  • Christian Reply to Euthyphro's Dilemma
    * District Attorney Euthyphro weighs in on Spike Lee and Gen. Flynn: Athens' district attorney Euthyphro weighs in on the hoax charges against General Michael Flynn being dropped and then on Spike Lee within 24 hours praising and then apologizing for praising Woody Allen. (See this at kgov.com/pedophiles. Turns out Jerry Falwell was ahead of his time. Thirty years ago on Bob Enyart Live we'd say that Falwell would schedule on his calendar, "Monday, issue statement. Wednesday, apologize." For whenever the Moral Majority leader would say something about a current moral controversy within 48 hours he would apologize. Now, #MeToo and Cancel Culture have leftists doing the same. Ha!) Euthyphro also explains why the concept of a "hate" crime, even though there's no such thing as "love" crimes, is nonetheless a valid concept. At this point in the program Bob introduces Euthyphro himself, a state's attorney headed to court in Athens to prosecute his own father who happens to come upon Socrates. If you search the web for: Christian answer to Euthyphro's dilemma, you'll see that Google ranks Bob's article at or near #1 at kgov.com/euthyphro and that one of the world's most brilliant scientists, Dr. Jonathan Sarfati, links to KGOV from his own writing on Euthyphro. Atheists today correctly use Euthyphro's dilemma (though they're unaware of doing so) to falsify Islam's claims of deity for Allah. We Christians however, beginning with the teaching of Jesus Christ, are able to answer Socrates, Euthyphro, and the atheists. * Hannity Mentions Neal Boortz: Our recollection being prompted today by Sean Hannity, we suggest that you may enjoy hearing Bob Enyart debate this national "conservative" at kgov.com/boortz. * To Hear the Full Series: - Euthyphro Part 1 - Euthyphro Part 2 - Euthyphro Part 3 - Euthyphro Part 4 - Euthyphro Part 5 - Euthyphro Part 6 Today's resource: Spiritual Growth Pack: Christians sometimes need a push forward to grow spiritually. After forty years as a Christian, these teachings represent my best effort at discipling another Christian to mature in his or her relationship with God: The Plot presents an amazing overview of the whole Bible story. • ThThurs: Ezra Pt. 9
Ezra: Fascinating ancient letters dramatize Israel's struggle with the ancient kings of the Medes and the Persians and with their neighbors. Why did God forbid the Jews from marrying their Gentile neighbors? Through Ezra the priest, God even commanded Israel to divorce their pagan wives. Contrarily, through the Apostle Paul, God commands Christians to stay married to unbelievers. Why did God issue different commands to Israel and the Body of Christ regarding divorce and marriage, what are the similarities, and what are the differences?   MP3-CD or MP3 download   BEL SUBSCRIPTIONS: Please consider one of our monthly subscriptions that will not only help support BEL, but they also promote better understanding of the Bible and may equip you to more effectively reach those around you. • Young Universe Cosmology with Dr. Phillip Dennis
*Welcome Dr. Dennis: This week Fred Williams and Doug McBurney interview physicist Phillip Dennis, who does research in General Relativity and Gravitation, Cosmology, and Quantum Field Theory, among others. His projects include providing algorithms for the Hubble Space Telescope, tracking algorithms, and other mathematical algorithms, he has three patents and has been recognized with awards from NASA, TRW, and Litton.   *Presentism: says that just because special relativity presents the appearance that one cannot assign an objective time order to distantly occurring events, that does not mean there is no "actual now". There is an actual now, and we're all in it... right now!   *Phil's Cosmology Model: Dr. Dennis gives us his thoughts on quantum field theory, the wave-particle duality, distant starlight in a 6000-year-old universe, and an introduction to relativistic quantum theory for creationists.   *Links to Dr. Dennis' Papers: (at least to the ones mentioned on the show today). Read Dr. Dennis' Machian Paper on aspects of the nature of light, his Relativistic Cosmology, and his groundbreaking 1998 paper on Probability & Quantum Mechanics.

  • ThThurs: Acts of the Apostles Pt. 31
Acts: Welcome to our study in the Book of The Acts of the Apostles. To summarize the book of Acts in one sentence: The Kingdom of Israel Fades as the Body of Christ Grows. To say simply that Acts is the story of the beginning of the church is to give a half-truth, for first, God offers the Earthly Kingdom to Israel and when that nation rejects their own risen Messiah, then God cuts off Israel, and grafts in the Body of Christ, replacing the covenant of law with the covenant of Grace. Who were the major Apostles? Jesus chose the 12 Apostles, Peter, James, John and the rest, and as He promised them, they would sit on 12 thrones, and judge the 12 tribes of Israel. On the other hand, for the Body, Paul is the one apostle for the one Body of Christ, and neither Paul, nor the Twelve Apostles, will rule over us, but Christ alone is the head of the body, whereas Israel, as a political entity, as a kingdom, can employ 12 judges. The title of the Book, The Acts of the Apostles, could be focused more precisely. It could be the Acts of the Apostles, Peter and Paul. For most of the Twelve Apostles, Luke the author of this book, mentions only their names, and that, only once. Whereas Peter and Paul are the main actors.  In Acts 1 through 8, Peter is the primary actor and through Peter God offers the Kingdom to Israel. In Acts 9, God saves Paul and sends him to the Gentiles and it is only through Paul’s ministry that God tells us about the Body of Christ and the dispensation of Grace. As The Acts opens, it’s all Peter and then as God cuts off Israel and grafts in the Gentiles in the Body, the story transitions and as Peter fades out, Paul replaces him as the primary actor. The Book of Acts is the story of the transition from Israel to the Body of Christ. Get this entire verse by verse Bible study in four parts. • Gary DeMar and Bob Enyart: 3 of 3
     * The Conclusion of the Matter: Now that this series is complete, the question is: will the Preterists at TheologyOnline.com and TheologyWeb.com link to these discussions between Bob Enyart and Gary DeMar? (To make it easy: Gary DeMar & Bob Enyart Pt 1, Gary Demar & Bob Enyart Pt 2, Gary DeMar & Bob Enyart Pt 3.) That will at least provide a hint as to whether they think the Preterist or the Dispensational position was best defended.  * The One Verse: Gary DeMar argues that dispensationalists cannot give one verse that shows that the rapture precedes the great tribulation. Of course, a one-verse test is not a valid test, and many vital doctrines including that of the triune God require more than one verse to demonstrate. However, Bob happily quoted Paul's statement, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come [The Departure] first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" (2 Thes. 2:3). The Greek word for "falling away" is apostasia, which today means departure from the faith, but is a cognate noun (related by derivation) of the verb aphistemi which means to depart as when "the angel departed"  (Acts 12:10). Also, while some translators overlook this, Paul here uses the definite article "the," that is "the departure," making this a reference that expects an antecedent. That is, Paul is not referring to any apostasia, but to a particular one, "The Apostasia." So, which Departure is Paul referring to? An antecedent does not necessarily need to appear in the immediate context, but it is common that it would. And there is no "falling away" in Paul's Epistle up to this point that his definite article could refer to. However, this very paragraph begins (two verses earlier) with the direct statement of "our being gathered together to Him" which explicitly identifies the Departure that is being referred to, that is: "concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him..." * Thanks to You!: Our annual BEL February telethon is going great thanks to our listeners! • Gary DeMar and Bob Enyart: 2 of 3
     * Does the Fig Tree Represent Israel? Jesus warned by parable that after His three years of earthly ministry to Israel, that nation would have one more year of mercy to accept their resurrected Messiah, otherwise He would cut off their national covenant. Luke 13:6-9 "He also spoke this parable: 'A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?' But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.'" Jesus came for the three years of His earthly ministry to Israel! As He said in Mat. 15:24, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (That is, Jesus died for the sin of the world, but He was sent by His Father specifically to "the house of Israel!") Thus it was from Israel that Christ sought for the fruit of faith, and found none. And it was Israel He threatened to cut off. So, a year after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, national Israel had utterly rejected its Savior. Thus as a nation, Israel lost its status with God under the Covenant of Circumcision.  * Who was Cut Off in Romans 11? The Apostle Paul explains in Romans 11 (vv. 15, 21-25, 30) that Israel was cut off for unbelief, and yet, that God is able to graft them back in again, and He will, when the fullness of the Gentiles (the Body of Christ) comes in! DeMar says that Romans 11 teaches the fulfillment of the Abrahamic promise that salvation would come to the Gentiles, however what he misses is that God's hope was to bring salvation to the Gentiles through national Israel! However, since they rejected their Messiah, God brought salvation to the Gentiles in spite of Israel, for the Gentiles "have now obtained mercy through their [Israel's] disobedience," and "their [Israel's] being cast away is the reconciling of the world!" Gary DeMar agreed that national Israel was cut off from their covenant relationship with God, but then He added that they would never be grafted back in again. However, Paul wrote that we "should not be ignorant," and should realize that though they were cut off, "God is able to graft them in again," for what "has happened to Israel [has happened only] until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in!"  * Does the Bible Represent Israel with a Fig Tree? As heard in Part I, Gary DeMar disagrees with Bob and others who say that the Bible frequently uses a "fig tree" as a symbol of national Israel. But consider this excerpt from Bob Enyart's best-selling manuscript, The Plot:  - "I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstfruits on the fig tree..." Hosea 9:10  - "Thus said the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Like these good figs, so... are [those] carried away captive from Judah...  I will bring them back to this land...  And as the bad figs... are... Jerusalem...'"  Jer. 24:5-8  - [The Lord will make Israel] like rotten figs that cannot be eaten, they are so bad.  Jer. 29:17  - [A nation] has laid waste My vine, And ruined My fig tree [describing Israel's destruction].  Joel 1:7 Both the vine and the fig tree sprout from the earth, from the soil beneath the land of Israel.  God expected Israel, the people of the promised land, to bear fruit to Him just as both the vine and the fig tree (Song 2:13) bear fruit.  Working with these symbols, God would sometimes bless or curse the fruit of the vine and the fig tree as a sign of His regard for Israel.  God used good fruit or bad fruit in prophecy to represent His intentions toward the Jews.  (Scripture commonly includes figs representing the blessing or cursing, etc., of the land of Israel as in Joel 1:12; 2:18 with 22-23; Num. 13:23; 20:5; Deut. 8:8; 1 Kings 4:25; Jer. 5:17; 8:13; Hosea 2:12; Amos 4:9; Haggai 2:19; Micah 4:4-5 and Zech. 3:10.) [End of Excerpt] (This is part two of our three part discussion! So you'll want to listen also to Gary DeMar & Bob Enyart Pt 1 and Gary DeMar & Bob Enyart Pt 3.) * Thanks to You!: Our annual BEL February telethon is going great thanks to our listeners! • Gary DeMar and Bob Enyart on Dispensationalism
    * Popular Author and Calvinist: Gary DeMar of American Vision and Bob Enyart discuss the disagreement between covenant theologians (like Gary) and dispensationalists (like Bob). The conversation is good, at the start, but it get's even better! So you may want to check out Gary DeMar & Bob Enyart Part 2, and Part 3! * Related: - Bob's friend Michael Brown has debated Gary DeMar on anti-Semitism - Bob interviews Dr. Michael Brown on anti-Semitism Which of these things is not like the others? Theonomy, preterism, reconstruction, and covenant theology. Here at BEL we are theonomists, teaching that man’s law should overtly reflect God’s law. However, we reject preterism, reconstructionism, and covenant theology. For decades, we have asked adherents of those systems to produce a criminal code that they believe would be just. So far, other than offering generic lengthy and even 1,000-page books on related subjects, they have yet to do so. We presume that they may never do so. By not dispensationally rightly dividing the Word, Covenant theologians are unable to discern between laws that God gave exclusively given to Israel and the laws that the Lord desires to be applied to the whole world. For more, see kgov.com/criminal-code, kgov.com/constitution, and kgov.com/the-plot. Today's Resource: Thanks to You! Our Broadcast Telethon is going better than any BEL telethon ever has! We're only seven days into the month, and you all already have given 49% of the telethon goal!
