By Christmas of 1943 the world was at war and noone for sure at that time could have told you where it would end. It was desperate times.

More than anything, our fighting men needed to know that the home fires were burning and prayers were being sent and hopefully answered.

Actor and comedian Bob Hope, working with the USO, entertained our troops overseas through 4 wars, giving up almost every Christmas in his adult life to 

entertain the troops. This Dec 1943 special is a walk back into our history and a look at everything we held dear.
