    COVID case surge is causing Ocala Police to close the lobby of the Police Department to keep employees and officers safe. Balken expects the lobby to reopen this week.
    Overall crime is down in the City, but concerns over domestic violence cases during the pandemic and shootings among youths. Balken noted that help is needed with the criminal justice system that is giving light sentences, returning violent offenders to the streets who are adding to shootings.
