The Rest of the Story (aka "TROTS") had been a staple of Paul Harvey from the time it was introduced in May 1976 through Paul Harvey's death in February 2009. This usually aired Monday through Friday of each week in the early to late afternoon, and sometimes was repeated in the early evening. Each broadcast started with "You know what the news is, in a minute you're going to hear the REST of the STORY". This was followed by a 30 second commercial and then the story itself. Without the intro and commercial. they are approximately 3 minutes and 45 seconds long.

The Academy Award Ceremonies is one of the biggest events in the entertainment industry. In fact, it is one of the most highly anticipated and most glamorous affairs that sets fire to anyone and everyone with ties to Hollywood. However, this was not always the case. The Academy Awards Ceremony found its beginnings on May 16, 1929 at the Blossom Room at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It was a relatively small gathering of roughly 270 people who congregated together to watch their favorite actors and actresses receive their Oscars. Unlike the ceremony today wherein attendance is by through invitation only, the first Academy Awards ceremony was open to the public so long as they could pay the $5.00 entrance fee. The following year, in 1930 the Academy Awards Ceremony was broadcasted live via Los Angeles Radio and was made available to all local listeners. Initially, Oscar awardees were known to the public even before they received their honors, but to make the show more exciting, the sealed envelope was soon introduced. The earliest award ceremonies were held as banquet events but as the attendance began to grow, the affair was hosted in bigger venues, specifically theaters. With the advent of technology, it has become possible to listen to the old time radio recordings of the Academy Award Ceremony and enjoy vintage performances from renowned entertainers like Judy Garland and Bob Hope as they take part in these classic old radio shows.

The program is also known as, "Mystery Time Classics," "Mystery Time" and "Masters Of Mystery." + Mystery Time turns to the classics of literature to bring you mystery classics, great stories of the past brought vividly alive by famous stars. This short story entitled Half An Hour was written in 1913 by Sir James Barrie (1860-1937) most famous for the story of Peter Pan.

ABC Mystery Time came on the air late enough in the Golden Age of Radio that all of the episodes should have survived. This is doubly sad because it was such a terrific program. The network and its affiliates tinkered with the title of the program at times, calling it Masters Of Mystery, Mystery Time Classics, and just plain old Mystery Time. The official name of the program, hosted by Don Dowd, was always ABC Mystery Time. The program did have enough to attract some serious star power, including the immortal Sir Laurence Olivier! Mystery Time may not be as recognizable as some of NBC and CBS’s mystery classics, but the shows are every bit as much fun!
