Southern Oregon University has been hosting Powwow for 30 years, both on campus and off, including a virtual Powwow online due to Covid restrictions, no, they are back on campus in the new gym and rocking and rolling in the oldest way! This is the annual from April 8 and 9th 2023. Southern Oregon University’s Powwow is a competition event, family friendly and one of the best Powwows around. Native Americans statistically have a higher rate of victimization and violent crimes with lateral violence from within our own people, Indigenous people find ourselves caught between the systems and the street.

In this episode, we will discuss the 215 movement beginning in Canada with the unearthing of residential school children who were allowed to die, and murdered at the hands of nuns and priests, who were volunteers in these governmentally funded and run Indigenous child internment camps. If you don’t know about NAGPRA, the Native American, Graves, protections and repatriation act of 1990’s then you may not know about the horrors of boarding in residential schools.
