Two friends, Heidi and Vivian born in the late 90s from Vancouver, Canada talking about their experiences and stories as CBCs (Chinese Born Canadians) while both coming from Cantonese backgrounds. BoJoke Podcast is all about being transparent while exploring topics in relationships, adulting, food, music, business, art and just LIFE.

BoJoke or “煲粥”, is literally defined as “cooking congee”. Before smartphones and the internet came about, individuals would spend hours talking over the phone. Chinese people often use the metaphor, “cooking telephone congee” to express how individuals are talking very long (over the phone) that it’s as if they’re slow cooking congee the whole day. Congee is cooked over low heat for a long period of time. Usually served on Sundays, giving a homie and comforting feeling to the family.
