A brand new week is here which means a fresh episode of the Real Life Podcast is all set and ready to ease you back into your workweek. This week, the guys covered some of the latest Oilers news, Jack Michaels taking over the play-by-play duties on Sportsnet, and welcomed Brody Schnarr from OwnersBox to teach us a little bit about fantasy hockey.
Kicking things off, the guys got going with a look at some of the Edmonton Oilers news that's been happening over the past couple of days, starting with Jujhar Khaira being placed on waivers this morning. While everyone on the podcast is a fan of Khaira, the move wasn't exactly surprising seeing as the player has struggled mightily over the past couple of seasons. Moving along, Sportsnet made an announcement this morning that Jack Michaels would be replacing longtime announcer, Kevin Quinn, on their regional broadcasts and what it will be like having a new/old voice to listen to on TV. The guys also broke down Oscar Klefbom's media availability from this morning, the issues he's having with his shoulders, and whether or not we've seen the last of #77 with the team considering the unknowns with his health and future of the team. Sticking with the Oilers, the guys offered up their boldest predictions for the upcoming season, and it was clear from some of the numbers they put down that the Kool-Aid is flowing mightily on the podcast. With the predictions done, another huge part of an NHL season is the start of fantasy hockey leagues, and the boys were thrilled to welcome Brody Schnarr from OwnersBox to teach them about the platform while also offering up some tips for success on the upcoming season.
