This is not a statement for or against any political party. It is dedicated to every parent who dreams of a better future for their children, and to everyone who believes that calling out what is wrong is not politics; it is a responsibility.

Ek aam Hindustani ki kahani.

Ek aise shakhs ki, jo hamesha samajhta raha ke politics uski zindagi ka hissa nahi hai. Lekin phir ek din usse ehsaas hua ke jab hum khamosh rehte hain, to nizaam bhi ek din hamare ghar ka darwaza dhoond hi leta hai.

Ye kisi siyasi jamaat ke haq ya mukhalifat mein nahi, balki har us maa baap ke naam hai jinhon ne apni aulaad ke liye khwab dekhe... aur har us insaan ke liye jo maanta hai ke ghalat ko ghalat kehna bhi ek zimmedari hai.

जब हमला हुआ तो महल्ले में से अक़ल्लियत के कुछ आदमी तो क़त्ल होगए। जो बाक़ी थे जानें बचा कर भाग निकले। एक आदमी और उसकी बीवी अलबत्ता अपने घर के तहख़ाने में छुप गए।

दो दिन और दो रातें पनाह-याफ़्ता मियां-बीवी ने क़ातिलों की मुतवक़्क़ो आमद में गुज़ार दीं मगर कोई न आया।

दो दिन और गुज़र गए। मौत का डर कम होने लगा। भूक और प्यास ने ज़्यादा सताना शुरू किया।

चार दिन और बीत गए। मियां-बीवी को ज़िंदगी और मौत से कोई दिलचस्पी न रही... दोनों जा-ए-पनाह से बाहर निकल आए।

ख़ाविंद ने बड़ी नहीफ़ आवाज़ में लोगों को अपनी तरफ़ मुतवज्जो किया और कहा, “हम दोनों अपना आप तुम्हारे हवाले करते हैं… हमें मार डालो।”

जिनको मुतवज्जो किया गया था वो सोच में पड़ गए। “हमारे धर्म में तो जी हत्या पाप है।”

वो सब जैनी थे लेकिन उन्होंने आपस में मशवरा किया और मियां-बीवी को मुनासिब कार्रवाई के लिए दूसरे महल्ले के आदमियों के सिपुर्द कर दिया।
