We take it in turns to countdown the Horror Films of 2019 that have left the biggest impressions on us. From Creature Features to Killer Clowns returning all the way into Indie Exorcisms. We’ve invited a new generation of Horror Auteurs into our nightmares and re-immersed ourselves into some old classics with remakes and sequels abound. Welcome back everyone! On this week’s episode we take a deep dive into the world of horror film distribution, looking at the creation of the Tartan Asia Extreme line of home videos. We explore how Tartan Asia Extreme opened up a Western audience to the films of East and Southeast Asia. We explore some of the popular films distributed under this title including:
We also discuss the era of Western adaptations of any Eastern material they can get their hands on resulting in some good remakes, some bad remakes and some weird and unexplainable butcherings. The expansion of global horror can give its many thanks to streaming services that have opened up a market of nightmares from all over this world.

Welcome back! On this week's episode we conclude our review of the brilliant Northern Horror festival Grimmfest. Sunday was a big closing day with a lot of strong offerings including a psychological 'non-supernatural' haunting, a character study set on a stranded boat, a contagious virus devouring the beautiful and a zombie apocalypse with a ukulele soundtrack. We managed to stay awake and alert for four feature films this time, watching 'I See You', 'Harpoon', 'Rabid' and 'Little Monsters'. It may be time to come back to reality after an amazing long weekend of horror, but it is not the last time we will watch these films.
