Loved it!!
I really enjoyed the book. Kathy just knows how to keep you on your toes. Even though I had my suspensions on the real killer it was stil really good!!!
must be getting slow in their old age
Hmmm. 5 stars for a rollicking thriller, but knocking off 2 because Tempe & Ryan must be getting slow in their old age.
Frustrating to read of the protagonists edging towards obvious insights .. only to steer off on a tangent for another chapter.
Grievous logical oversights can't really be forgiven. Like: when circumstances point to one suspect, and the suspect is subsequently cleared, it does not invalidate the circumstances themselves (which also point to another party, who is in fact the unsub). But no-one seems to twig to this .. alamak!
Anique Pomereau is back!
A killer from Tempes past is back. Tempe is called to help on a cold case. 2 child murders and Anne Pomerleau is determined to be the killer based on DNA evidence. Tempe tracks down her sometime beau Andrew Ryan to help, who is living a self imposed exile, after the death of his daughter. What they uncover is even more horrifying then anyone could imagine. The Temperance Brennan series by Kathy Reichs is an amazing series. Katherine Borowitz delivers a brilliant performance of Bones Never Lie.
Have I read too much Tempe?
The answer is always No! I love this series, however I was onto the plot outcome by half way through wondering why Tempe was taking so long to catch up. The start of the book is however a tear jerker and absolutely one of the best. I read Monday Mourning again before staring this and maybe that was a mistake as it was fresher to me than the characters so in that sense it was a realistic proposition. Great writing.
Not among my favourite Kathy Reichs books
I found it difficult to stick with this book. I have enjoyed the previous books by Kathy Reichs but this seemed too complicated and too contrived. I was bored by the end. I think the narrator did a reasonable job with a difficult book but it wasn't an easy listen.
