Herring Cove Road laugh and cry!

This is a sweet book series. I read the first book as well and loved both of them. The language was clean, the characters were full of life, personality, and the author gave them such greats senses of humor. I enjoy reading stories that make me laugh and cry. This series is full of life, and you end of loving the characters. I will definitely be reading the third book before long.

Pretty cagey book.

This is the second Herring Cove book and an excellent sequel, actually the third in the series just came out and it's just as good. Avriel Rosen is the key character in all three but the others play strong roles. He's an elderly Jewish widow, (at least now), and for all the bumbling he appears to do he really has it together. The was an exciting mystery and kept me on my toes right until the end.

Volume two Herring Cove Road

I love this series by Michael Kroft. His characters are rich and well developed. The story is both heartwarming and well thought out. I will continue this fulfilling series with great anticipation.

Great story in the series. Just wish SOMEONE would proof-read prior to publishing. I don't mean the attempts to capture the maritime dialect, but the rookie errors any ninth grade English teacher would haul you up short for.

Enfilant le costume de l'inspecteur amateur (complètement loufoque, mais plus sagace qu'il n'y paraît), il s'est plongé dans les archives, a reconstitué l'enquête et déniché les indices les plus ténus pour nous livrer ce récit haletant dont l'issue pourrait bien résoudre une énigme vieille de soixante-quinze ans.

I loved Liz. She isn't having an easy time of ...

I am so embarrassed that this is my first novel by this author. I will soon be rectifying that after reading this fabulous book.

Even though the story introduces us to three very different characters, Liz, John and Bella, Liz is definitely the main character of the book as the story focuses more on her life than the others.

I loved Liz. She isn't having an easy time of it having her husband leave her for a much younger blogging health guru celebrity, a teenage daughter and an overweight dog. I have to admit I found her self control of when it came to her daughter amazing. I don't think I could have kept my calm as well when she seems to be under the influence of her fathers new bit on the side and causes poor Liz lots of grief. Ted the family dog really made me laugh. The storyline of him going to doggy weight loss classes had me howling.Â

John and Bella do stand out in their own right. Their back ground stories were heart warming and you really embraced them both.

This really is such a fabulous read. Through Liz's story, it really does bring so much humour to the book and I dare you to try and not laugh, as I for one couldn't control it!

Funny, heart warming and engaging. The Worst Case Scenario Cookery Club is this years must read.Â

The Worst Case Scenario Cook Book by Chrissie Manby a winning five-star read. This was great, I adored the characters, they were all unique and had their own story to tell, each one more interesting than the last, each character in this story could have their own book and I would read them all. There are funny situations galore and moments that will have you tearing up. Liz was someone that you wanted to pull up a chair alongside and create the amazing mouth-watering food mentioned in the pages, the sad point was they werenât included.

As of writing this I am not quite finished...But I've experienced so much Listening to the story. As someone who knew very little about Hold'em I now know LOTS more about hold'em. Also so much happens...Without spoilers...You will not believe just how much can happen at a poker tournament

Hard to say, there were so many and each unique as well as uniquely acted by reader Andy Harrington.

Unusual experience.

I didn't realize the story is a poker tutorial and had trouble understanding much of it. Also, with 100 characters it was sometimes confusing. The story is fantastical with a unique twist.

The narrator is excellent, employing many accents and vocal variations to move the story along. A nice mellow voice with excellent articulation and enough drama to keep me interested.

A great listen!
