Bonus: Body Scan Meditation for deep, nervous system restoration

Listen Later

A special feature episode of Finding Your Way Home - an extended body-scan meditation to release you into deep calm, ease and nervous system restoration.

Meditation has a profound impact on not only mental equilibrium but overall systemic health - positively correlated to improvements in stress response, hormonal function, digestion, circulation, heart health, cellular repair, life expectancy, the list goes on...

Its impact on cognitive and emotional function is undeniable - taking the meditator beneath surface thought and reactivity, into empowered states of ease, presence, mental acuity and detached observation.  It is for this reason that we actively teach it in high stress environments - executive leadership, ultra-athletics, competitive sport, crisis management. One of the greatest gifts for me as a practitioner is seeing people otherwise unfamiliar with / hesitant toward "mind" practices discover the incredible potential they unleash.

Although there are many different meditation modalities, body-scans are especially significant in their ability to cultivate a felt experience of physiological & psychological safety - especially when practiced "supine" or lying down, the weight of the body resting into the support of the mat, each zone sequentially visited, connected with and consciously released.  For many, trapped in a cortisolic state that has them continually tired & wired, this form of self-connection is one of the easiest routes into the Parasympathetic Nervous System - the place of healing, integration and ultimately, deep human connection within and outside ourselves.

So. Lie back,  restful under a soft blanket, your incense or a candle nearby, and tune in to a special guided session to sink you in to the softness you crave.
