This week, we're veering away slightly from our regular cases and talking about a huge story in the true crime world: the disappearance of Kristin Smart. Kristin was a 19-year-old freshman at Cal Poly in 1996 when she went missing after a party over Memorial Day weekend. Though a suspect was quickly identified, early investigative mistakes and a lack of physical evidence has left this case unsolved for nearly 25 years. In part one, we're summarizing Kristin's disappearance and the investigation.
