You’re going to fuck up. No, really. You will make mistakes. We all make mistakes. The problem comes when we delude ourselves into thinking it’s someone else’s fault. That it was “them” or “her” and “if only,” etc. The worst thing we can do is not take responsibility for our own actions. This level of self-honesty is hard to achieve in early recovery and takes practice to develop. But! When you do get it, what do you do about it? You must take action: admit your faults as soon as you are aware of them; ask what you can do to repair the damage; and what can be done better next time.
Reflections
What have you fucked up recently? C’mon! There is something. There is always something.
Daily Challenge
Write a two-column list. On the left side of the list, write the things you have fucked up recently, and on the right side, note what you should have done differently.
