Book Nerds Discussing Ideas

Listen Later

This week in the Talky Bit, Judi will be leading a conversation about the work of Jonathan Haidt, the author of a book called “Righteous Minds – Why Good People Are Divided By Politics And Religion.”. Given the often increasingly vitriolic nature of the rhetoric we are surrounded by, this strikes me as a timely discussion. And given that our setting at The Table is a “religious” one, committed to exploration of beliefs, it seems even more apropos. I don’t think you’ll need to be a book nerd to enjoy and benefit from this.

Also, mark your calendar for our Easter Breakfast Pot Luck on Sunday, April 20th. This is something of a “tradition” at The Table, and we’re not all that inclined to collect up traditions so I suspect it matters to us in some unique way. Short version – before our gathering, we’ll get together to enjoy a bit ‘o pot luck breakfast / brunch. As usual, no rules about what to bring, and no restrictions. Bring what you can, and if you can’t bring anything to eat then make sure you bring yourself so we can be together. Either way, we’ll plan to eat at about 10:00 a.m, and then move into our gathering time.
We’ll gather this Sunday at Creative Manitoba around 10:30, kids in tow.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
-Tim Plett
