Booking Pop Culture

Yes, this is Episode 12... listen and learn, as we work on our NPR sound! It's our End of Summer episode, and we dive right into some Labor Day BBQ talk. Hear what Dickie Bronson brought to the Venom spread, as well as just how much butt was smoked at another Labor Day event. Ric talks Amazon.com Prime Pilot Season. Somehow, this moves into bathroom etiquette, and you'll be asking yourself "flop or fly?" when it's over.. Then takes some heat over his Kevin Smith fandom, and seeing Yoga Hosers. Jason jumps in with some Winners and Losers of the summer of 2016! Stranger Things vs. The Night Of.. who wins the summer? We also talk about some recent concerts and what we're looking forward to.. Prophets of Rage, Mac Sabbath, Clownvis Presley, and Ghost!!

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 9 - How do we have 9 episodes in the can?!?!

This is a very special episode, as we have the world's first one-legged wrestler - Zach Gowen at the table!! Everyone knows of his time in WWE, fighting alongside Hulk Hogan, and against dudes like Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Big Show, Vince McMahon, and Brock Lesnar. He's also had more than his share of personal battles and victories as well. He's competed on NBC's American Ninja Warrior and is an advocate for DDP Yoga. Recently becoming a Certified Level 1 Trainer and creating a series of workouts for those with missing limbs. This dude has seen some stuff, and with all this, our first thought was to discuss.... his love of fast food!! Yep! All of us sat under the learning tree as Zach schooled us on foods from Taco Bell, McDonald's, Burger King, Arby's, and Wendy's!! We all discuss our favorites, and some of the failures we've seen along the way. When the topic of Mountain Dew comes up, Zach and Creep have some words.. Shit got hot! This was a really fun show. Sit back and enjoy!!

As always..

We're back to our bread and butter! In this episode we dive right into it with our rants on Killing Joke, and then go after Suicide Squad. We then find our happy place when we talk about Stranger Things on Netflix!! We lose our goo over the new Rouge One trailer that just dropped! Some random thoughts on upcoming movies, rumors, and the usual disjointed thoughts! Oh, and this time, we have a female perspective on things too!

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 7 - Part 2 - Another Two Parter!!! Holy crap people! We wrap up our epic podcast recording starting with a discussion of AT Hucks comic book collection. Then Creep, Dickie Bronson, and GQ talk Pokemon Go, and what's right and wrong with today's youth! Ric and J sit under the learning tree and listen to AT Huck and The DBA talk about Detroit wrestling history from 1990 to today. From Malcolm Monroe Sr to XICW Proving ground, and everything in between... including fights on top of flaming cars!! It's a long one, but so epic!

Enjoy and email us at [email protected] with any questions or flame jobs!

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 7 - Part 1 - Parts is parts!! Folks, we had some special guests in, and ended having an epic night of recording. Pardon our post-production as we dice this up a bit... Picture this; 2016 - Metro Detroit - Mic9 Studio... Yep! We have The DBA, GQ, and Dickie Bronson talking Golden Girls!! A.T. Huck, Creep, and J sit back and listen.. Ric chimes in with an apology during post production.. So, head back to St. Olaf and enjoy the ride!!

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 6 - It's a sixer, buddy!! Well, we're mixing things up this week and felt that with all of the Marvel and DC we have been talking about it seemed only fair to look at alternatives. So, much like the Republican Party's response to a State of the Union Address, we are giving Anime equal time on this episode! ... and when it comes to a wrestling locker room, the anime experts are Jake Something, Idris Abraham and The Mad Dragon Hakim Zane. These guys take over and barely scratch the surface of what's hot in anime, what drew them in, and what they're looking forward to.. Jay and Ric just sit back and listen, and so should you! It's a fun little trip down anime lane.. enjoy!

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 5 - Right in the five-hole! Join us as we discuss Eskimo culture! No, seriously! Ric has a confession and a serious question, which leads into a very interesting discussion. Joe, Jay, Rich, and J all chime in with critical information regarding intimate details of their favorite super heros. GQ drops a Candy Report, and Bronson's Graveyard returns! Everyone discusses Cleveland's big win and the what-if scenario of the Detroit Lions winning the big one. Enjoy, and email any questions you might have for the crew to [email protected]

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 4 / Part 2 - TWOOOOOOOOO!!! Part Deux! We pick right back up from the first half's meaty offerings, and dive right into a GQ's Candy Man report! Dickie has to leave early and then Joe, J, and Jay go deep, deep, deep into DC Rebirth! Ric asks about Captain Marvel, and then Doug and the rest of the guys talk UFC 200 and boxing. All this, and we get prepped to watch Zach Gowen hit the American Ninja Warrior course!

Booking Pop Culture - Episode 4 - Four? FOUR!! FOOOOOOOOORE!!! We're back, and this episode has so much girth we split it into two parts! We get offensive right out of the gate.... Sorry! We jump right into X-Men: Apocalypse and we're not thrilled with it. Rouge One issues?!? The guys explain Captain Marvel's purpose, and we discuss a couple of legends lost in Ali and Gordie Howe. Much, much more, and this is only Part 1!!

All aboard the struggle bus!! Sometimes, and we doubt this will be the last time, things just don't go right. This episode was going to just collect virtual dust on a hard drive, but we thought it would be fun to actually put our 'Lost Episodes' out there for you to enjoy. Laugh out loud as we struggle to maintain on topic, and relish in our pain and agony as things just fall off the rails. You sickos!
