Today's episode is about the book The Fault In Our Stars. It was my favourite book for a very long time, and even now in adulthood, it is still among my top ten. Advertising this book, as the main character of the story puts it, “feels like a betrayal”. But this book has stimulated me to think more philosophically, and I have new discoveries or come to new understanding every time I reread it. Today's episode is about the book The Perks of Being A Wallflower. It not only marks the shifting point of my reading taste, but also how I view myself as a person. Charlies is the protagonist and narrator of the story. I read the book when I was younger than him. I read the book when I was the same age as he is. I still read the book now that I am older than him. The book is a constant reminder that staying present is key and that pain is an individual thing. “Even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn’t really change the fact that you have what you have.” I hope this can shed a new light if you are struggling right now.

Today's episode is about the book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I realised just now how silly it was for me to try and let you guess in the episode, as the title already give it away, but still, it was fun when I recorded that bit. I was reading the Harry Potter series around the same time I was reading the Sherlock Holmes novels, but the excitement were of two different kinds. World building is the foundation of any fantasy novel in my opinion, and in that aspect, this first book in the series has done such a great job introducing its readers to the magical world that so many have and will continue to grow to love in the future. As a series directed to younger audiences, the novel has also helped me to embrace myself as I am, and I hope that once you give some time to read it, it will do the same for you, too.

Today's episode is about the book A Study in Scarlet written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is such an important read to me as a child. I was really into detective stories and mysteries novels alike, but I guess what appealed to me was not only the duo, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, catching criminals and solving puzzles, but also about how that reading the novel gave me a model I could look up to. I admired Holmes' detective skills and wanted to be as good in my studies as he is in his expertise. His self control fascinated me, especially in the sense of not having emotional outlets. I tried incorporating what I respected him for to become part of my character, to become a better version of myself. Gaining that is one joyous thing about reading I think.
