Boomer & Gio

Jerry & John Franco breaking down where both teams are as the All-Star break is here.

Jalen Brunson played through the Finals with a wrist injury that required surgery, and Chris McMonigle raves about how the Knicks MVP is the toughest star we have in this city. Jerry Recco wonders how the Mavericks possibly let this tough superstar get away. Plus, Evan and Tiki react to the Knicks signing Andre Drummond to replace Mitchell Robinson, while C-Mac gives his take on Robinson's long-winded social media message explaining his mysterious hand injury suffered just before the NBA Finals.

Boomer Esiason got the attention of Mets fans when he declared that the team needs to trade Francisco Lindor before the deadline. That led to Evan and Tiki debating if trading Lindor would really make sense for the Mets, and if it is even possible. Plus, reactions to Mike Francesa claiming that a Lindor/Juan Soto feud was sparked by the lack of a welcome message after Soto signed, and Boomer and Jerry believe there has to be more to the team's decision to let Pete Alonso walk.

Brian Cashman gave a discouraging update on Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, leading Chris McMonigle to wonder if Stanton will return at all this season. Plus, Evan Roberts wonders if it is far to worry that Judge won't be back this season either. Evan also says the Yankees need to trade for Tarik Skubal, while C-Mac declares that the Yanks need to cut ties with Anthony Volpe.

Boomer and Jerry covered several notable topics this week, from Boomer declaring that the Mets should trade Francisco Lindor to pondering the real reasons why the team let Pete Alonso leave in free agency. Plus, forecasting where LeBron James will sign and who the Super Bowl favorites will be this year, and lamenting the sad state of the Yankees and Mets, who have made watching baseball in New York a chore over the past month.

Jerry and Gordon Damer fill in to break down the Yankees' win over the Rays, Cashman's injury updates, the Mets' recent success, and local trade deadline plans. The show pivots to Stefon Diggs' legal updates, a potential Patriots step-back against a "football first" Jets squad, and Evan Roberts' strange Nets take. Next, they tackle the LeBron James free agency hype, a bizarre Spurs broadcasting firing, and the uproar over a Bryce Harper Cameo video. Finally, C-Lo wraps things up with extensive audio updates, leading into a childbirth-themed Moment of the Day and the Commanders retiring John Riggins' #44.

Jerry and Gordon Damer fill in for Boomer & Gio today, starting with the Yankees beating the Rays and Brian Cashman addressing the team's funk alongside injury updates on Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. Next, the Mets secure their first series win since mid-June. C-Lo takes over updates, featuring Ben Rice's two home runs and Cashman on the offensive struggles, followed by Howie Rose calling Tyrone Taylor’s homer in a win over the Royals where Sean Manaea pitched a rare 7 innings. Finally, we dive into potential players the Mets could trade and what the Yankees will do at the deadline if Judge isn’t back soon.

Stefon Diggs' male sexual assault accuser turns over 100 texts as evidence against him, while the Patriots appear set for a step-back season with the Vrabel stuff still hanging around. Jerry wonders if the "football first" Jets can leapfrog them now that Aaron Glenn is no longer fighting the media. Next, C-Lo returns to update on the Yankees beating the Rays and the Mets defeating the Royals as Sean Manaea pitches 7 innings. Finally, Evan Roberts drops a strange Nets take in regards to the Knicks.

Jerry says we are acting like a young LeBron James is a free agent right now who wants teams to leave him a voicemail, prompting a discussion on potential places he could land. Next, Spurs TV announcer Jacob Tobey was fired for having an affair with the sister of Spurs forward Lindy Waters III—a move that doesn't make sense since neither of them are married. Then, C-Lo returns for an update featuring audio and all of the awkward topics from a Warm Up Show with Al & Gordon from a few weeks ago. Finally, Jerry closes out the hour by talking about a 1990s Howard Stern Show episode he recently listened to.
