It looks like the Jets are going to be on Hard Knocks this season. Boomer thinks it’s great for the Jets and for the fans. The Jets don’t want to do it, but they have no say in the matter. Gio wants Rob Saleh to enjoy it and lean into it. He doesn’t want him being angry about it. Boomer said he believes Aaron Rodgers gave the Jets a 3-year commitment. In the final segment of the hour, Gio started watching the Quarterback documentary on Netflix with Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota. Gio said it’s great to see Mahomes dealing with his wife wanting a ton of birthday pictures.
Dianna Russini of ESPN reported yesterday that Saquon Barkley could hold out week one if he doesn’t get a new deal from the Giants. Boomer thinks they will get a deal done before it comes to that. Gio wonders if their over/under win total changes significantly if he’s not on the team. We also talked about Super Bowl odds and how the Giants aren’t getting any respect. Jerry returns for an update but first the Buccaneers are bringing back the creamsicle uniforms for a game this year. The docu-series ‘Quarterback’ debuted on Netflix last night and he heard from Kirk Cousins and his wife. Mike Gundy talked about Oklahoma choosing to leave the BIG 12. Gundy has tan skin, white hair and jet black hair. Sean Casey’s podcast co-host is sad to see him go. Pat McAfee talked about having to open the ESPYs. LeBron James said he’s not retiring and called us all ‘Lucky’ for that. He also said, love him or hate him, you have to ‘respect me’. In the final segment of the hour, Gio witnessed a road rage incident in NYC between a guy on a bike and a guy in a car. There was another road rage incident Gio heard about that included a manslaughter charge.
The Yankees will have an advertisement patch on their uniform for Starr Insurance and some people are upset about it. Gio said in 2023, there is no difference between a Yankee jersey and every other jersey in baseball. We also talked about Sunday Ticket and YouTube TV. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Sean Casey talking about the Yankees offense and said he sees some tension. With the ESPYs last night, Jerry breaks out the classic Norm Macdonald OJ joke from when he hosted. Carmelo Anthony’s career was honored last night and we heard from Melo, who thanked the fans. Northwestern seems interested in hiring Ed Orgeron but he’s not interested. All rumors of course. In the final segment of the hour, SAG/AFTRA is going on strike and many WFAN on air personalities are in that union. Gio wonders if he’s supposed to strike.

In the final segment of the hour, a public relations person with the Flyers was caught on a hot mic complaining about a reporter. Gio heard that Keith Jones of the Flyers has an inordinate amount of gas. Boomer texts him to ask. Gio then plays the farts he has saved on his phone.
