Hour 3:

We are doing our show from the Travelers Championship on Wednesday and Gio almost got to play in the pro-am. He was then invited to play mini-golf with the children. Bummer. Would Gio really be able to tee off with a driver in front of a crowd who he could potentially hit? We also talked about the US Open from this weekend. There was a plane getting overhead shots C-Lo returned for an update and Buck Showalter talked about Mark Vientos being sent down in order to bring Pete Alonso back from the IL. We also talked about Tiki Barber having a 20 handicap in golf and Gio can’t believe he’s that bad. The Yankees got swept in Boston including a doubleheader yesterday. Karl Ravech made a bunch of errors in one call of the college world series. In the final segment of the hour, the Astros have lost 4 in a row which means they will probably sweep the Mets. The Yankees continue to play poorly when Aaron Judge is not in the lineup.

Hour 2?

Bob Huggins resigned as basketball coach at West Virginia because of a DUI arrest on Friday. A caller talked about young players with a ton of money and how suspending them a few games doesn’t really do anything. Jerry talked about how young these guys are when they get a ton of money and thinks so many of them do a great job handling that, and there’s only a handful that get into trouble like Ja Morant. We will probably do a show from Jets camp again this year. Jerry wondered if Gio would be star struck by Aaron Rodgers. He doesn’t think so. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about having to give the doctor urine samples and how embarrassing that is. A caller said there’s a professional prostate checker that goes into a classroom of medical students and they all check his prostate. The whole class. Gio said the guy has to be a sicko. In Boston a little kid threw a foul ball back and it really upset his brother so the Red Sox got him a signed ball. In the final segment of the hour, the Braves’ Charlie Culberson’s dad was supposed to throw out the first pitch on Father’s day, but the DFA’d him before the game. Awkward. St. Louis Cardinals 2011 World Series and NCLS MVP, David Freese, declined an offer to join the Cardinals Hall of Fame.

Hour 1:

Boomer is out so it’s Gio & Jerry today. Gio said he doesn’t like to make a big deal about Father’s Day. That way if he doesn’t do enough for Mother’s Day, he can always say, ‘well, we didn’t do anything for Father’s Day’. The Mets and Yankees have both been very boring lately. Giancarlo Stanton has been terrible since coming back from his injury. He still has 4 ½ years left on his contract. Gio said baseball in NY is boring and lifeless right now. The Mets actually had some offense yesterday but Carlos Carrasco was bad on the mound. C-Lo is in for Jerry today. He starts with the Mets losing to the Cardinals after coming back and tying the game at 7-7. The Yankees were swept by the Red Sox over the weekend. Jerry said you have to threaten to take the game away from them forever.

Hour 1:

We open the show talking about Craig Carton announcing that he’s leaving WFAN. Gio has all the scuttlebutt about what’s happening but he’s not allowed to say. Gio said he saw Craig but he thinks he faked a phone call so he wouldn’t have to talk to him. Gary Myers seems to think Tiki Barber is replacing Craig. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with audio from the Denver Nuggets championship parade. Rob Manfred talked about the A’s moving to Vegas and the reverse boycott. Day one of the U.S. Open started yesterday and Jerry had your updated leaderboard. Antonio Brown’s Arena League team was kicked out of the league. Stephen A. Smith backs Evan Roberts’ take, calling Scherzer and Verlander ‘mercenary pieces of crap’. Stephen A. Smith also likes breasts, and sex too. Adam Schein was on the Awful Announcing podcast and said that Mike Francesa wanted him to take over afternoons when he retired. Gio wonders what that conversation would have sounded like. In the final segment of the hour, video has emerged from the Conor McGregor incident inside the Miami Heat’s arena. He led a woman by the arm into a bathroom and his security guards are seemingly guarding the door. She is claiming sexual assault. 

Hour 2:

A man drove his car into the bay in Patchogue. None of the articles or news reports are saying how he wound up in the bay. He is 33 years old. A caller wants to know if Gio is watching Temptation Island. Gio has not started watching the new season but he loved season 2. Gio’s daughter vomited all over the bed and his dog went to eat it. This all happened while his wife was at a reality show podcast taping. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Nuggets Head Coach Michael Malone at the championship parade. Gio said he looked like an obnoxious Yankees fan. Day one of the U.S. Open was yesterday and we heard from Rickie Fowler. Jerry has audio from the upcoming documentary series, ‘Quarterback’. The Chiefs got their rings yesterday. Stephen A. Smith comments on Rose Montoya, the trans activist that showed her boobs on the White House lawn. Adam Schein talked about his childhood dream of being on WFAN but dreams change. In the final segment of the hour, Baltimore Ravens Hall of Famer Ray Lewis’ son, Ray Lewis III, passed away at 28 years old, but there are no details yet on how he died. 

Hour 3:

The Mets open up a series tonight against the Cardinals at Citi Field. Columnist Mike Vaccaro said Buck Showalter could be tarnishing his legacy right now with this Mets team. This is a team that should be competing for a World Series but they keep losing series to bad teams. The Mets are spending too much money for that and not living up to expectations. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio said he is not canceling any plans because someone might be getting sick. Jerry starts with Shohei Ohtani getting the win on the mound and hitting a monster HR. Rob Manfred talked about the A’s fans as they move the team to Las Vegas. Jerry ran through the leaderboard after day 1 of the U.S. Open. Rickie Fowler is happy to be playing well. The Chiefs received their rings yesterday and Andy Reid said it’s now on to 2023. The Nuggets had their championship parade and Head Coach Michael Malone had a few drinks and addressed the crowd. In the final segment of the hour, Gio doesn’t think the Carton & Roberts combo was together long enough to look back like they were together forever. We talked about trying to get Boomer to 20 years as morning host at WFAN. We think it’s 4 ½ more years. He can definitely do that. Then we talked about our Kickoff To Summer show during the pandemic and what a mess that was. 

Hour 4:

We talked about Craig Carton’s monologue yesterday at the start of Carton & Roberts. What should the new afternoon show be called? Boomer loves the name ‘Tiki & Turtle’, no matter who it is. Gio imagines what the promos might sound like if the new show is ‘Recco & Roberts’. Jerry returns for an update and asks Jerry about the possibility of ‘Recco & Roberts’. Jerry started with Shohei Ohtani as he got the win and hit his 22nd HR. Jerry has audio from Nuggets Head Coach Michael Malone after a few drinks at the championship parade. Gio said he’s seen enough of Aaron Rodgers enjoying the nightlife in NYC.
