The Mets looked good this weekend with Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander both pitching well in the double header yesterday. Gio is starting to build trust in Verlander. The Mets also have a strange group hump type celebration. Brandon Nimmo doesn’t do the humping, most likely due to his religious beliefs. The Yankees are on way too many channels now: YES, ESPN, Fox, Peacock, Apple TV+. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts with the Mets sweeping a double-header from the Guardians. Lindor had a couple of good games this weekend against his former team. Max Scherzeer talked about his thumb callus busting open. The Yankees swept the Reds this weekend. Aaron Boone was tossed yesterday before noon. Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship, the first LIV golfer to do so. Michael Block hit a hole in one. The Heat smoked the Celtics to go up 3-0 in the series. The Nuggets are also up 3-0 on the Lakers. In the final segment of the hour, NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown passed away. Hour 1:

The Mets and Yankees both won yesterday and won their series against the Rays and Jays. Both Aaron Judge and Pete Alonso continue to hit HRs for their teams in big spots. Gio wants Steve Cohen to pay Pete Alonso whatever he wants and he wants him paid now. He’s a homegrown guy and not an over the hill player they brought in. Gio said the Mets are taking him for granted. Gio is sick of the ‘overpaid slugs’ in sports. Jerry is here for his first update and starts in Toronto where the Yankees won again. Aaron Hicks even had a key RBI single. Judge talked about getting good pitches to hit. Nestor Cortes got the win and talked about taking 3-of-4 from the Blue Jays. The Mets beat the Rays and Pete Alonso homered again and Buck Showalter talked about that. He also talked about why Mark Vientos didn’t play. Gary Sanchez is coming up tonight for the Mets and Gio is very annoyed by that. The Nuggets beat the Lakers to take a 2-0 series lead. There were 4 overtimes in last night's game between the Panthers and the Hurricanes. The Panthers eventually won 3-2. When we talked about Super Bowl 60 being in the Bay Area, Boomer said he’ll be ‘removed from football’ by then. We are all concerned about our futures. Tyson Fury is angry with Joe Rogan for saying Jon Jones could beat him. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer played golf yesterday for his charity. The day before, Boomer played with Cal Clultterbuck who hit his first hole in one. Someone else hit one yesterday. Boomer has seen 4 holes in ones in his life and 2 of them were the last 2 days. Tom Kim got all muddied up at the PGA Championship yesterday looking for his ball. 

Hour 2:

The Yankees have picked it up, especially Aaron Judge. Hal Steinbrenner talked about last season, saying it’s not a failure because of how many games they won. They got swept in the ALCS. Gio said Brian Cashman probably wants to blast through the luxury tax. He also said the Yankees won’t ‘eat their problems’ anymore like they used to in the past. Boomer said the Yankees have been relevant for all 16 years he has been here. Gio said that’s a low bar to have. The Yankees have had a ton of regular season success, but not in the playoffs. Boomer said the Yankees fan base is entitled and used the example of them booing Aaron Judge last season in the playoffs. Boomer said it’s hard to be in the playoffs every single year. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Aaron Judge hitting another HR to dead center in Toronto. Judge talked about the great pitching they got yesterday. Ryan Weber talked about being laid back while pitching in tough spots. The Mets beat the Rays again and Pete Alonso hit another HR, his 16th of the year. Shohei Ohtani hit another HR, this time in Baltimore. The Nuggets beat the Lakers to take a 2-0 series lead. The Panthers beat the Hurricanes in 4 overtimes. Tom Kim got all muddy at the PGA Championship. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from Yankee fans as we continued talking about Hal Steinbrenner seeming happy just to make the playoffs every year. Boomer said the Yankees have been great for a long time. Gio said you could be great and still want more.

We continued our discussion about the Yankees and how Hal Steinbrenner seems happy just to win a lot of games and make it into the playoffs, even if they don’t advance. Aaron Hicks even had 3 hits last night. Daryl Morey, the President of the Sixers, spoke to the media about their search for a new head coach and whether players will be involved in the process. In the final segment of the hour, you can smell weed everywhere and now the weed bakeries are being raided because the state is selling their own weed.

Gunnar Esiason is going to see Blink 182 at MSG tonight. Boomer hooked him up. Gio wondered how many people Boomer has to hook up with various things. And which people in his life does he always have to help out when asked. They also talked about IVF and going into the ‘spank room’.
