Boomer is out today so Jerry is filling in. Max Scherzer and the Mets beat the Padres. Both Gio and Jerry said this does not mean Scherzer is back. He was better, but he labored through a lot of hitters and didn’t have a knock out pitch. Some people liked the dramatic music and the split screen on SNY concerning the pitch clock, and some people did not. Gio and Jerry didn’t care for it. We also talked about the potential of the Mets getting Shohei Ohtani down the line and what they would need to give up for him. They also want Francisco Alvarez getting more playing time since they brought him up. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update and starts with audio from the Mets beating the Padres. Max Scherzer said he took a step in the right direction and is ‘not broken’. The Guardians beat the Yankees and Aaron Boone talked about a blown chance they had early in the game. The Tampa Rays won again, their 10th straight to start the season. The Sabres beat the Rangers and the Islanders lost to the Capitals and are no longer in control of their playoff destiny. Hour 2:

The Lamar Jackson saga continues as it seems now he will be the QB of the Ravens this season. He is the one that recruited OBJ to Baltimore and he assured him he would be the QB throwing him the ball. That according to a report from Ian Rapoport. Gio has had enough with athletes complaining about their contracts and getting what they want. He compared it to his daughter whining and getting what she wants. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with audio from the Mets win over the Padres. Gio and Jerry thought Max Scherzer was good, not great. Jerry deactivated his Twitter because he’s had enough. Gio said it’s hard to keep up with news without it. The Yankees lost to the Guardians and Gio was very taken by their pitcher’s tight pants. Evan Roberts texted Gio a picture of a woman politician in Chicago who looks like JJ. C-Lo and others were in Vegas for JJ’s bachelor party. Domingo German had a real lack of command, walking five batters. In the final segment of the hour, Gio’s daughter does not listen to him when it comes to popsicles.

With OBJ signing with the Ravens, there are some who believe the Jets have to go after DeAndre Hopkins. Gio and Jerry think the Jets are good with their WRs right now. Gio wonders how he is supposed to clean his leather pants since they go ranch dressing on them. C-Lo returns for an update but first we recap the Dali Lama asking a child to suck his tongue.
