Boomer & Gio

Phil Simms joins us in his usual Wednesday spot and we started with the terrible performance by the Jets in Chicago. We also talked about The Giants playing the Commanders and they’re throwing Jayden Daniels out there.

Jerry starts with Kevin Cash saying Ben Rice is ‘on a heater right now’. NFL films put out John Harbaugh on the sideline right before the Deonte Banks interception that ended the game. And the Rangers beat the Islanders.

We went back to the Yankee calls and Boomer talked about Jazz’s antics on the team.

Mike Francesa said he’s not sure if the Jets tweet was real or not, which got Gio to thinking about Francesa falling for that fake Captain Kangaroo story. We then played classic Mike & The Mad Dog where Mike thinks Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers were war heroes.

Gio's looking for them but can't find any right now. So we take some calls and hope.

Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Max Fried talking about facing adversity. Fried also has a baby due any moment but said it won’t affect his pitching. We heard Freddie Freeman homer as the Dodgers beat the Braves.

Boomer went through who he would put in the lineup.

Gio and Jerry react to the Yankees falling behind 2-0 in their playoff series, debating Aaron Boone vs. the players following costly errors by McMahon and Jazz, postgame audio from Cam Schlittler, Spencer Jones’s catwalk hit, and Ben Rice's two home runs. The guys break down the Falcons crushing the Saints, Aaron Glenn’s mindset, NFL referee suspensions, and Max Fried’s upcoming must-win start as the series heads home. Wrapping up, they discuss small-payroll playoff teams, Jim Harbaugh on protecting Justin Herbert, spiraling Jets and Yankees fan panic, and Mike Brown on coaching after winning a championship.

With Boomer out today, Gio and Jerry take the wheel, starting with the Yankees’ playoff loss and debating whether the players or Aaron Boone are to blame. C-Lo steps in with the update on first-inning errors by McMahon and Jazz, followed by postgame reactions from Cam Schlittler and Jazz. Beyond baseball, the Falcons crush the Saints on the ground, Aaron Glenn adopts a week-to-week mindset, and the NFL suspends two officials for disrespecting players. Finally, the guys wrap the hour taking calls from Yankees fans, including one demanding Anthony Volpe play.
