The Yankee season is over after being swept by the Astros in the ALCS. Boomer thinks Brian Cashman will be back. Gio says if Cashman is back then Aaron Boone will be back. And a lot of what people want Boone fired for were organizational decisions and are not solely on Boone. We went over the list of things the Yankees need to fix moving forward if they hope to be able to beat the Astros in the future. C-Lo is in for Jerry as Jerry was in Dallas to call Cowboys/Lions. We hear the final call from John Sterling as Aaron Judge grounded meekly to the pitcher to end it. Aaron Boone is emotional after the game as you might guess. Bryce Harper hit a huge HR in the Phillies win to get them to the World Series. The Giants won in Jacksonville by stopping them at the 1 yard line to end the game. Boomer said Brian Daboll is turning Daniel Jones into a weapon. We heard from Daniel Jones and he regrets mouthing ‘catch the ball’ during the game. The Jets won in Denver by Breece Hall may have torn his ACL. In the final segment of the hour, we wonder why Brian Cashman doesn’t have a contract right now. Why was it not taken care of during the season? Boomer thinks Josh Donaldson will still be your third baseman next season.
The Yankees have a lot of decisions to make as an organization. Are they going to stay the course with Cashman or will they blow it up and start with a new GM and more? A lot of guys Cashman brought in ended up on the injured list. The biggest mistake they made was the amount of money they are giving Giancarlo Stanton. He’s one dimensional and when he gets hurt, he’s gone for a long time each time. Aaron Judge really hasn’t done anything in the playoffs. Do you really make him the Captain when he hasn’t produced when it counts? C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Yankees getting swept by Houston. Aaron Boone sounds sad after the game. Judge talked about Houston playing better than them. He said he was not playing like it was his last game as a Yankee. Judge probably cost himself some money based on his playoff performance. The Yankees Mental Skills Coach was sending out videos of the 2004 Red Sox coming back from 3 games to none. The Giants found a way once again to win it in the fourth quarter. Daniel Jones threw for over 200 and ran for over 100. Geno Smith got another win, this time over the Chargers. The Jets won in Denver and the defense was stellar again. Breece Hall may have torn his ACL. And we finish up with audio from Jerry calling the Cowboys game against the Lions. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from disappointed Yankees fans, one of whom also had his daughter puke on him right after the game.
The NFC East is very competitive and Brian Daboll did exactly what he needed to do to get another win. Daniel Jones is taking on a leadership role now thanks to Daboll and he’s even holding his WRs accountable. The Giants are the best team in the NFL when trailing in the fourth quarter. Zach Wilson is running for his life flailing all over the place and could cost them down the road. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Yankees losing to the Astros. Jeremy Pena tied it with a 3-run HR and we heard the play by play from John Sterling. IKF kind of tells us what he saw during the misplayed double play between he and Torres. C-Lo says ‘you cannot assume a good feed’. C-Lo is like a harness racing horse that will eventually wind up working in Central Park before dying. Aaron Judge talked about losing in the postseason. Daniel Jones got it done with his arms and legs as the Giants won in Jacksonville. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Yussef and his dominance in our weekly NFL picks.
What changes can the Yankees really make based on their current contract situations? None of them are no-brainers. Boomer thinks Cashman will stay but Boone will be gone. One caller wants everybody fired, including the batboy. C-Lo returns for his final update and starts with a sad Aaron Boone after the game. Gio does not see the Mets making an offer to Aaron Judge. C-Lo thinks there will be many offers for Judge, not just the Giants. Daniel Jones threw for over 200 and ran for over 100. Sauce Gardner had another solid game for the Jets. Dak Prescott returned and Dallas beat the Lions with Jerry Recco doing the play by play. Todd Bowles on the Bucs, ‘it’s as dark as it’s gonna be’. Aaron Rodgers is not worried about his squad after three straight losses. In the final segment of the show, Gio wonders how we will respond at the start of next season for the Mets and Yankees. Will we forget about the bad postseason or focus on it?
