Boomer & Gio

Someone on the team needs to step up and take the team by the horns. Could that person be Jazz?

C-Lo and Willie recall their days together in the Jets locker room. The guys discuss some of their favorite players to interact with over the years.

The YES broadcaster checks in to talk the Yankees offensive struggles and his impressions of Lombardmania.

Willie and Jerry are both optimistic about the Giants but Willie is a little worried about Jaxson Dart. Willie thinks Dart can put it all together but cautions that it can take some time in a new offense.

Jerry is worried about the Jets QB position this year but Willie is optimistic about the defense in Aaron Glenn’s second year. Jerry asks Willie what the Jets can expect out of Geno Smith. Willie has hope for Geno in his second run with the Jets.

Jerry and Willie agree that it’s hard to see a way out of this rut until Aaron Judge comes back.

Darius Slayton thinks he got the “Tom Coughlin-esque” coach he was looking for in John Harbaugh. Willie speaks to the importance of leadership and how players can sense a difference when it’s real and strong vs weak. On a fun note, Willie is a fan of Disney Cruises and recently shot a commercial for them after they heard about his experiences. Disney made Willie a cruise guy.

With Boomer away, Gio and Jerry break down George Lombard Jr.’s dream MLB debut, C-Mac’s Brian Cashman interview, massive NFL contract extensions, and reports of tension between Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto. The guys evaluate Giants training camp concerns surrounding Jaxson Dart, debate whether Pittsburgh’s Primanti Brothers is actually worth the hype, and react to Keith Hernandez’s broadcast gold. Plus, C-Lo delivers updates on Kodai Senga’s move to the bullpen, while Gio opens up about a show-wide deep dive into sleep paralysis, his Pittsburgh Dancing with the Stars memories, and a terrifying trip where he was robbed at machete point.

Gio and Jerry host with Boomer away, kicking off with George Lombard Jr.’s dream debut. Gio laughs at C-Mac interviewing Brian Cashman, leading to a breakdown of Cashman’s catcher stance, C-Mac’s quick "thank you" audio, and Gio figuring out why Yankees fans are angry. C-Lo delivers an update on Lombard’s homer alongside Dave Sims and Suzyn Waldman’s excitement, followed by Craig and C-Mac’s Cashman song, C-Mac’s interruption apology, and Cashman dodging a Francisco Lindor trade question. The guys then hit Keith Hernandez’s broadcasting edge, Freddy Peralta’s Rays debut, and John Harbaugh scolding Jaxson Dart. Finally, Stephen Waldron’s vacation leads to Gio sharing his worst guy trip ever: getting robbed at machete point in the Dominican Republic.
