Hour 1

There were 2 big coaching moves yesterday with Pete Carroll being relieved of his coaching duties in Seattle and Nick Saban retiring. Carroll was the Jets Head Coach when Boomer was there and he ‘loved every minute of it’. Seattle said he will be in an ‘advisory role’ now but it sure sounds like Carroll wants to keep coaching. Boomer is not shocked by Saban retiring, considering the transfer portal and NIL. Which is why we also think Jim Harbaugh will jump to the NFL. This is going to continue to chase great coaches out of college football and basketball. Gio said no big name coaches are going to Carolina because of owner David Tepper. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about Craig Carton being in the building yesterday to tape, ‘Hello, My Name is Craig’. Boomer said he’s looking a little thick. Jerry has audio of Stephen A. Smith going all in on Jason Whitlock. Pat McAfee is ‘pumped’ that Aaron Rodgers is no longer appearing on the show until next season. Jerry has audio from Pete Carroll as he met the media and he’s ‘freaking jacked’. Jerry thinks the Chargers should hire him. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the best head coaching jobs open including college. Gio compared living and coaching in a beautiful city compared to living here in January. Boomer said the Rose Bowl is the most beautiful stadium in all of football. 

Hour 2

This morning Gio found out that Kayvon Thibodeaux blocked him on Twitter. We get breaking news that Bill Belichick is officially out in New England. Where does he end up? Chicago? Chargers? This might be the biggest 24 hours in football coaching history with Belichick, Nick Saban and Pete Carroll out of their positions. We talked about all the potential scenarios for Belichick and where he could end up. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about Belichick and the Bears and Matt Eberflus. Jerry has audio of Pete Carroll after learning that he was let go as Head Coach of the Seahawks. Carroll got very emotional talking about his wife. Drew Barrymore called in because she heard us mention her show was going to be in Vegas for the Super Bowl. She called Boomer & Gio a ‘bright light’ in the sports world. She invited us to come on her show from Vegas. 

Hour 3

Adam Schefter seems to be linking Bill Belichick to the Falcons now that he is officially out in New England. It is hard to picture him in Atlanta. A caller wants Belichick to the Steelers and Gio said the Rooney family and the fans hate him. We went through NFL Head Coaches and played, ‘Fat/Not Fat’. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Bill Belichick being out in New England. What if the Drew Barrymore appearance and the Dua Lipa interview are the same day for Gio? Stephen A. Smith went all in on Jason Whitlock on his podcast yesterday and Jerry has the audio. He called him ‘worse than a white supremacist’. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls on Belichick being out in New England. We will hear from him and Robert Kraft at a noon press conference. 

Hour 4

Bill Cowher joins us to talk about Bill Belichick officially being out in New England. Cowher said he needs to go to a place with a QB and speed on offense, as he can take care of the defense on his own. Would Belichick go to the west coast and the Chargers? Cowher thinks the Atlanta job is the most appealing because of the division. They do need a quarterback though. He said you need to win your division as it gives you a home playoff game. Cowher doesn’t think Pete Carroll will take another coaching job. He thinks he will take a front office job with Seattle. He doesn’t see him going to the Chargers. Gio said the Rooneys hate Belichick and would never bring him in. Cowher doesn’t agree with that but also said Mike Tomlin isn’t going anywhere. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with Bill Belichick, out in New England. Carroll is ‘freaking jacked, not worn down’ and ready to go. David Stearns said Harrison Bader will play regularly in center field. Stephen A. Smith went all in on Jason Whitlock and Jerry has the audio.
