25 years ago, Albert Friedman was challenged by Mayor Richard M. Daley to revitalize the downtown area in Chicago, and part of that started with Petterino’s in the heart of the loop. To kickoff Petterino’s 25th Anniversary Celebration, Mr. Friedman joined WGN Radio’s Steve Dale in Booth 46 to talk about the “secret sauce” that has made the restaurant so successful and one big family. Pat Quinn served as Illinois’ governor from 2009-2015. During that time, the Chicago native abolished the death penalty, made Illinois the 16th state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage, signed the Illinois Secure Choice Savings Program Act into law, is recognized as one of the foremost governors advocating for animal welfare, and accomplished much, much more. Now the former governor is fighting to keep the Chicago Bears in Illinois, among many other initiatives.
