Travis England is a winner of the Avon Descent, a Coach and co-creator of the Drummers Downwind Challenge. Trav has helped me a lot with assimilating over to Perth over the past few years and tells us a story of how important ocean racing is to him. He loves the community that he gets to paddle with, he is focused on giving the best he can while creating that good work/life balance and believes that there is no sport like ocean paddling. We also give some tips at the end for up and coming paddlers on how they should be approaching sponsors. Thanks mate for your time!

What an insightful chat into the minds of one of the best and most influential paddlers of the last 20 years. Hank McGregor has won 11 Marathon Kayak World Titles, 3 Molokai to Oahu Surfski races and has a long list of major titles across the globe. He speaks of idolising Clint Robinson, walks us through the challenge of being at the top, his failures, winning, losing, being suspended, travelling 55 days across the Atlantic and his love for ocean paddling. Some amazing insights into a man who has inspired me to be the best I can be each and every day. Thanks for your time Hank!

Guy Leech is someone who has inspired me in many ways, not only by his performances as an athlete but his ability to move into business after sport. Guy made himself a household name winning The Coolengatta Gold and taking race wins in Uncle Tobys Super Series. We also talk stories about his Molokai win, his love for ocean paddling, how he built his personal brand, how to manage through crisis and how the most important thing in life is to follow your passions. Thanks again Leechy for your time.
Austin Kieffer is an American Ocean Ski paddler originally from North Carolina. He's the best paddler in the sport from the USA and is a constant threat at the front of the field. Starting his love of paddling with whitewater he pushed hard but it lead to a failed Olympic campaign and left him asking what next. He started Ocean Ski then stopped, tried many different jobs, bounced around the country but it left him longing for more ocean paddling! With a supportive team around him he found a new love for Surf Ski and a new drive to be the best he can be. He's won the USA national title and has finished on the podium in the highly respected Doctor event in Perth. His story winds around following your passion and seeking new opportunities through hard work and determination! Austin is a larger than life character with an even better story. Thanks mate for your time!
Todays BOOTHCAST is with Luke Hallam from Ocean Heroes Australia. Luke tells us his story on how his comminity work began and how he wants to educate more people on the effects of Autism Spectrum Disorders with his team. Luke grew up on the beaches in Perth and had a love for the ocean. After working in the gym as a PT he noticed that Autistic children didnt have the opportunity to learn ocean skills and from then on he wanted to help them get the same opportunities he had. OHA takes children surfing and the effect on the kids and everyone involved is immense. He gives us insight into how he has used prone and SUP paddling to raise awareness and educate more people about Autism. Thanks Luke for your time ๐
So we did the opposite this time, I was actually interviewed! Mike was keen to throw some questions my way after our earlier BOOTHCAST. We chat about why I started this podcast, whos inspired me, how i developed into the paddler i am, my different World Titles, technique and downwind tips and a whole bunch more. Check it out and see me on the other side of the mic :)
Next guest is Fiona Wylde on the BOOTHCAST and it was fantastic to share stories with her. She's an incredible athlete and person both on and off the water. Fiona has had World Tour victories in SUP surfing, a SUP racing World Title, the Euro Tour SUP Overall Champion last year, among many other titles. Growing up in Hood River, Oregon she became a junior windsurf World Champion, got into SUP and had the realisation of a type 1 diabetes diagnosis. That didn't stop her and has such an amazing approach towards life. So much gets unpacked in our conversation and it was awesome to have her on the show!
Thanks everyone for following the BOOTHCAST, it has been so awesome hearing everyones feedback and support :)
Todays BOOTHCAST is with Danny Ching who is one of the pioneers of SUP racing as we know it today. We talk about his upbringing in Redondo Beach CA, his many sporting endeavours including SUP, OC1 and Kayaking. Danny was a Panamerican Games representative for kayak, a 3 time Battle of the Paddle SUP Champion, a 2x Carolina Cup Champion and a 2x OC1 M2O champion. His success wasnt created over night. I really enjoyed hearing of his 9 year challenge of trying to win the M2O and his various businesses he has moved into to keep the dream alive. Thanks Danny for coming on.
