While Louis CK's public persona was impacting young Rob and young Joe, CK was privately behaving like human trash. In this Booyah, we discuss our muddy opinions about this comedy icon cum pariah. Plus we talk Rosanne Barr, Dave Chappelle, trans rights, long lost friends, Rob's attempt at being an intellectual, twitter, Russian bots, Jaqcues Lacan, bad words, and a whole heck of a lot of jokes. We've been hesitant to discuss Louis, since his name alone carries so much baggage, but we finally gave it a go. The end result: a conversation that was honest, critical, and fun. It's the end of the world as the Sinclairs knew it on the series finale of ABC's muppety Dinosaurs show. My friend said it would be a real accomplishment to talk about Dinosaurs without saying "not the momma," but he said that long after we recorded this and said "not the momma" already. That baby was cute and had catchphrases because catchphrases are all that matter in American media. Joe's back from his Christmas trip. I yelled at my mother-in-law in a Kroger parking lot because she wanted me to eat cheese. Then I watched wrestling & drank a bottle of wine. You have to write an episode description for Booyah. You sit at your computer and type these words. You're nervous that some buttheads will someday read these words and roll their eyes because the second person present tense ain't cool. Years ago, you and Robert were drawn to writing in the second person present tense. Maybe a lot of young writers are drawn to that POV because it's a cheat code that magically makes the writing seem urgent. But is it really a cheat code? You have no clue. All you know for sure is that this Booyah episode you're supposed to be describing makes you want to write something that is distinctly yours and nobody else's. It also makes you laugh a lot.
