This is the final episode of the season for Botany & Barrels! The show will be taking a little break and will come back new and rejuvenated. For our season finale, we have Nina's final bottle from the Finger Lakes region of New York State from Montezuma Winery. This 2020 La Crescent is unique in that it was designed to withstand frigid temperatures! Listen in to find out more about this Finger Lakes wine.

This week we're enjoying the flavors of Spring early with a Micro Mariotti Smarazen Bianco "Pet Nat!" This blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia di Candia has bold, tangy, citrus flavors and is grown in sandy soil on 50-100 year old vines!

This week we'll be trying the very accessible Quail Oak Chardonnay! Typically retailing for around $4, this #California white has been called "unpretentious" with notes of butter and peach. Will this be another example of a low cost, high Quail-ity wine? Or is this one for the birds? Listen to tomorrow's episode to find out!

ORANGE. The color of sunsets, fruit, and maybe the color of this wine? That's up for debate. Nina and Gaby try this Field Blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc. Between Us is from LA based Coly Den Haan and Angelica Luna, in collaboration with winemaker Rosanna Stefano on the border of Collio and Friuli in Italy.

We've got some good news... That's right, it's time to open a new bottle of bubbly with Gaby and Nina! No, put down the champagne cause this week we're popping the cork on our first Pét-Nat. What's that? It's short for “pétillant naturel" - a French term meaning “naturally sparkling.” Think a sparkling wine meets a crisp beer: extremly refreshing... and just a little funky. Made from organic Cortese grapes farmed in Italy, could this fresh Bakari Confondo be your new fave?

Que Syrah, Syrah! Time to turn the tide in 2022 and embrace this 2018 Syrah from Pet Name Wines . This is an exciting episode, the ladies haven't tried a syrah wine before. Pet Name's syrah is the perfect bottle to dip our toes in and try something new in 2022!
