Welcome to show 166 where we are going to be looking back over all the music we played throughout 2023 and then looking ahead at what is going to happen in the world of music this year 2024!
DJ Chappers has compiled a fantastic array of music for you filled to the brim with music that he has played the most throughout 2023 according to Apple Music’s Replay ’23 feature.
All the music featured on today’s show comes from the following categories set out by Replay ’23;
Top songs, top artists, top albums, top playlists, top stations, plus my very own selection of songs from artists I think are going to be a hit this year and a few dedicated!
In 2023, DJ Chappers has listened to 2,500 songs from 1,000 artists for a total of 50,000 minutes! This show is an overall depiction of the music that was played the most, so come and join us as we take a good look back over the past year, see if you recognise and resonate with any of these tunes. Here’s to 2024!!!
Hello and welcome to our new year’s celebration show, this week DJ Chappers is bringing the party to you from his studio to your ears. We’re going to be starting with a bit of 50s rock and roll phasing into a bit of 90s chill out dance via Elvis Vs JXL for the pre party, then we’re heading straight to the party with a mix of modern and 90s dance and finally ending with a few slower calming tracks! All in all we’re seeing in the new year in style, so grab a drink maybe a cup of tea chaser, crank your volume to the max and have a good time and if your neighbours complain tell them to come and see me!
Hello, welcome and merry Christmas, DJ Chappers is here to bring you the Christmas show with a twist! All the radio stations and all the shops are playing the original same old Christmas songs, so this year I wanted to do something different, so I’m going to be playing covers of all the original Christmas songs! We want to get you in the Christmas spirit ready for all of your festive plans, whether you’re unwrapping presents, cooking dinner or just enjoying the festivities, Bounce FM’s there for you. Whatever you are doing we hope you all have the best Christmas!
Welcome to DJ Chappers’ 31st birthday show and he’s going to be doing his birthday shuffle, a show very similar to his on shuffle show where DJ Chappers compiled a playlist of 3 songs from each year he’s been alive, that made 90 songs, he then pressed shuffle and he’s going to be playing the first 26 songs from the order that the shuffle button chose at random!
Today’s show however, is going to have a slight variation because this time DJ Chappers has put together a playlist of about 60 songs of his favourite artists while he was growing up, so there’s going to be a lot of indie music, a bit of soul, a little r&b, a drop of dance and finishing off with a few of his karaoke favourites! This show is exactly like a box of chocolates because you never know what tunes you’re going to get!
Welcome to the 11th instalment of the DJ Chappers Show, featuring a slice of the Bounce FM Time Machine, we will then have a filling of Stranded Songs with this week’s stranded guest Rafe Conn, a good friend of DJ Chappers from his uni days! This show is basically a great music and positive vibes only sandwich! A show you don’t want to miss!
Welcome to beat the ads take 5. I’ve compiled a playlist crammed full of great songs from the world of adverts, with more focus on this year’s Christmas ads.
Many adverts use top notch songs to draw you towards what they are selling because if you associate a certain song to a certain product you’re more likely to remember it and in most instances purchase it. That’s what you call clever marketing!
However, companies don’t just use good music to manipulate you into purchasing their product. Some companies actually pump millions of pounds into producing film industry standard adverts with top notch music to outdo their competitors and make you go to their store because you’ll be like they’re a good shop look how good their adverts are!
DJ Chappers returns with his 5th instalment of the On Shuffle show, where DJ Chappers has compiled a playlist of his and Bounce FM’s favourite songs. The playlist consists of around 300 songs and counting. But we’re not going to be playing all of them of course because you’d be listening for hours, DJ Chappers has actually put all of the tracks into a playlist on a well known streaming site, he’s pressed shuffle and he’s going to play the first 25 songs from the order that the shuffle button chose at random!
Welcome to the second installment of Eras, where we delve into a particular era of music in each episode. This edition is going to be focusing on the origins of punk taking you all the way back to where it all began, to the early 70s in New York and then all the way back to present day! So get your bright green hair dye out, spike your hair up, dig out your old leather jackets, ripped t-shirts held together by safety pins, ripped jeans and finally get your Doc Martins on tie up your laces this mosh pit is ours for the next 2 and a half hours!
In light of the recent AI advancements enabling the remaining members of The Beatles, Paul Mcartney and Ringo Starr, to complete a long lost song which John Lennon had partially recorded vocals on! AI was programmed to study John’s voice and then replicate it to complete the song! With that in mind I wanted to do a chart show from the week John Lennon was sadly taken from us, but it’s not going to be a sad show it’s going to be more of a celebration of a legend of the music industry!
The first part of the show is going to be a chart show from the 7th to the 14th of December 1980, playing a handpicked selection of songs from number 40 through to number 1, a whistle stop tour of a very emotional, very poignant and a moment in time that not only shook the music industry to it’s core but a moment that made the entire world stand still!
Then in the final part of the show I’m going to be playing around a dozen songs from the list of The Beatles 17 number 1 singles, at the end of the show I will be playing The Beatles’ brand new song and most likely their last ever song, Now and Then, let’s hope it is to be their 18th number 1!
