There are few writers who can write a good story with a gay character, primarily because they focus on raw sex rather than the story. A gay character does not need to be a porn star and in fact rarely are as stereotypical as most characters in this genre. This seems to be more typical of American writers, as I have read much more quality material from Brits. This was an exception.
