We're back after a long break with episode 13 of the sometimes not bad Bourbon Gent's podcast.

In this episode we review the UK's finest supermarket own brand bourbon's and then compare them to the daddy of all cheap bourbon - Jim Beam White label. We also discuss whether experimental bourbon is worth the effort, answer a few listener emails, and debate whether it's ok for Mr Pie to wear shorts to record the podcast (the answers is no!).

In the TOOFT section we ramble on about movies, guess at the plot of Topgun 2, and reveal our favorite - ice cream, movie soundtrack, and actor.

Normal service is resumed as the Gents manage to keep the podcast under an hour this time. However we also manage to record quite possibly the worst episode yet. Seriously, we don't recommend this one, but if you decide to ignore our advice then you will hear, amongst other things, us reviewing the worthy Bourbon Gent's World Cup Winner - 'Four Roses Single Barrel', re-branding 'Three Of Our Favourite Things' as the catchy 'TOOFT', Mav doubting that a potato is a vegetable, and Mr Pie getting excited about trees. Honestly we say just skip this one and wait for episode 13. You have been warned!

After the mammoth 10th episode the Gents decided to try and keep this one short.... cue the 2nd longest podcast we've done so far. Amongst other things - We struggle to pronounce basic words, we re-cap the Bourbon Gent's World Cup so far, say hello to our 500th twitter follower, Mav tries to review James Markert's book 'Angles' Share' without spoiling the plot, we risk the wrath of the bourbon world by reviewing a whisky (Yamazaki 18yo) and we wrap it all up with the best/worst part of the show 'three of our favourite things'.

Happy birthday to us! We have made it to the 10th episode and to celebrate this special milestone we have a bumper podcast for you. Mr Pie and special guest tell Mav all about their night at the Pappy Van Winkle tatsing event held at the Last Chance Saloon in Nottingham. We go in depth on the tasting notes for 5 (count em!) different offerings from the Van Winkles - the 10, 12, 15, 20, & 23 year old. We also thought as this was special episiode we should do something special to mark the event, so we have kicked off the first ever Bourbon Gent's world cup. The draw for the first round is made live on the podcast and is more exciting than the FA cup draw has ever been. We hope you enjoy it and here's to another 10 (hopefully)!
