This week, Tom welcomes back Lora to the pod to discuss all things Q1. They look back on the month we've just had - let's call it 'January' (it'll never catch on) - and look ahead to what's coming up in February and March. Come for the stats, stay for the chats. Or something like that(s).
Warning: a large chunk of the opening is dedicated to Film of the Year 'We Live In Time'. Deal with it.

How back are we? SO back. Happy new year, folks! Tom comes swinging into the new year with a new pod, a new lease of life, and a new global box office projection. A tale as old as time. Listen up if you want to hear a recap of the Christmas box office shenanigans, and an incredibly accurate 2025 box office prediction from the good people here at Gower Street. If you DON'T want to know the future, then you might as well skip.

On this, THE FINAL EPISODE OF THE YEAR, Tom talks to his lovely colleague Mya about the films they've seen this year. Find out which made them laugh, which made the cry, and which made them down right disappointed. If you like hearing the word 'Conclave', then this episode is for you!
Tom hopes you all have a wonderful Christmas and the happiest of new years, and rest assured he'll be back in the 2025 with more utter twaddle.

What can I say except 'You're welcome'... for this brand new episode! Pull up a chair and listen as Tom talks you through Wicked's impressive opening numbers (including some dubious broken records), the upcoming Thanksgiving release of Moana 2 - and he dives into just how big is too big for the holiday weekend?! - and finishes with a brief look ahead to what's coming out in December.
It's the penultimate episode of the year, so get it while it's hot!

In this episode, Tom discusses Ridley Scott's new film Gladiator II. Why are so many sequels coming long after the first film? Is there any need for it? Will people see it? All these questions are answered and more in the course of this episode!
Tom also discusses a new article written by Gower Street's very own Thomas Beranek about the October box office, which can be found here:

Put on your happy face... your favourite podcast's favourite podcast is BACK! This week Tommy boy takes you through the upcoming sequel to the 2019 SMASH HIT Joker. He talks records broken, reasons for its breakout, and what all that means for the (musical???) sequel. He'll lift the lid on his and Gower Street's predictions for Joker: Folie A Deux, and analyses the landscape in which it is releasing. As well as the usual nonsense.
Note: for some reason the audio is a bit crackly. Tom tried to fix it but was unable to (translation: there was no suitable YouTube tutorial). Sorry about that. He will try to avoid that next time and hopes you accept his heartfelt apologies.

Gower Street. Gower Street. Gower Street.
You've just unleashed a brand new episode!
This week Tom is doing something a little different on the pod... He's getting some people with insight on! Rob Mitchell and Lora Bogdanova, Tom's esteemed Gower Street colleagues, rise up from the underworld to discuss the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel. They talk about the legacy of the first film, the reason for the sequel, its box office potential, and the impact that Jenna Ortega and the success of Wednesday may have on it.
Join them as they answer the age-old question: Just how loose is the juice?

In this episode, Boy Tom looks ahead to Autumn's two big dog film festivals: Toronto and Venice. He looks at the films slated to play at those two festivals and how they compare to last year's slate. Is he done there? I don't think so! As a treat for all you lovely listeners, Tom looks back at the films that won the Audience Award at Toronto and the Golden Lion at Venice, and what that means for their box office potential but also their potential future Awards Season success (mainly the Oscars, that's all people care about UNFORTUNATELY).
You lucky, lucky bunch.
