Coffee in the Corral

Boxes and Lines - a song by AJ #159

Listen Later

Today's episode is a little different. After seeing so much disdain, hate, and negativity online, I spent several hours writing this song. It helped me process my feelings and find what I wanted to say. So instead of talking about the current social climate, I decided to sing about it. :)

I hope this song reminds you to value all humanity, no matter what. The ecosystems that thrive are the ones that are diverse! And this includes the truth that it's good for us to have people that disagree with us. We need many perspectives!

I am right and you are wrong

And this is why I write this song

All the fighting drives me crazy

If I am pink and you are blue

What the hell does that even do

Except to separate the babies?

Boxes and lines need redesigns

And I don't need you to define

What kind of label to slap on me

If rules make laws and laws are cruel

Who do you think your gonna fool?

You're only filling up your belly

If one makes two and two makes four

Then each should get to choose their door

It's not a matter of religion

Time is short and life goes by

And I don't need to know the why

Everyone has their own opinion

A heart that beats is theirs to keep

No one wins when we all bleed

We need a thriving ecosystem

No red or blue is always true

The color pallet must include

A celebration to be human

A celebration to be human

Let's all remember we are human.
