Police say a young boy was shot in the leg in East Germantown Friday evening.

According to officials, it happened around 5:40 p.m. on Ardleigh Street, near Chelten Avenue.

Officers took the boy to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition.

In a separate incident, police say they are also investigating a shooting on West Manheim Street in Germantown, where a man was shot twice in the back shortly after 4 p.m. and rushed to the hospital.

Police say his condition is unknown.
