We discuss the Catholic scientist who discovered the chromosomal cause of Down Syndrome and his approach to use science to shed light on the dignity and support we can offer other humans. Human value is not based on what people arbitrarily decide is "productive" or "useful" for society. We need to learn how to experience the joy and the opportunity of each personal encounter.
