One of the more beautifully shot character-driven films you'll ever see, The Bridge on the River Kwai deserves its title as a classic. It's an engaging, poignant film that features stunning visuals, memorable performances and questions about the symbols we create to bring meaning to our lives. Who'd have thunk that the winner of 7 Oscars would be head and shoulders better than introspective 20-somethings babbling cluelessly on about the world?
