It’s October 2005 and Jon Marks is practically living at WPEN.

He’s taking classes at Temple University and spending all of the time he can before and after classes trying to get his foot in the door at the start-up sports radio station.

For two months, Marks did whatever was asked of him – and then some – and he did it all for free as an intern.

The station eventually did hire him as a part-time employee, paying him for 15 hours per week, but Marks was there about triple that amount.

A lifelong dream to be a talk-radio host, more in the mold of Howard Stern than Dan Patrick, was on the line and Marks was going to do whatever it took to get there.

When the Eagles selected Jalen Reagor in the first round, you heard about his playmaking ability.

You also heard about his speed, but it came with an asterisk: a sluggish 4.47 40 time at the NFL Scouting Combine.

You also heard that he put on 10 pounds from his playing weight of 195 at the Combine and that when back in the comfy confines of TCU, where he starred at receiver for the last three seasons, he ran a blitzing 4.22 40 on a virtual pro day.

You also heard that he’s been clocked at a blazing 20.8 mph in actual games using GPS technology.
