Intro
We just wrapped up Christmas! Every family has their own way of celebrating the day. This year, I think a lot of families had to make adjustments because of the pandemic. We are hit and miss when it comes to traveling to grandparent’s houses during this time of the year as it is, so the pandemic didn’t change that up for us. But, we do have specific things we do every year and in today’s episode, Braden and I will talk about this.
Why do we celebrate Christmas?
We are Christians and we celebrate Christmas day for Jesus’ birthday. While we know this isn’t the day He was born, this is the day that Christians have celebrated his birth since 336 A. D. This observance first appeared on the Roman calendar. (mom) It’s believed that Christians started celebrating the birth of Christ as a substitute for a pagan holiday called Winter solstice. After the Roman Emperor, Constantine, converted to Christianity in 312 A.D. church leaders worked to make the celebration of winter solstice more appropriate, so they celebrated the nativity on December 25th, the last day of the solstice.
