We’re continuing in our series “Acts: To All the World” as we dig deeply into the book of Acts, and learn about the early days of the church, its gatherings and leaders, triumphs and tribulations.

A few weeks ago, we considered what it means to be "Walking in the Fear of the Lord" and how that should shape our lives and our calling as followers of Jesus. In a part two of sorts, this week Pastor Kent will be exploring the other message of Acts 9:3 and what it means to be "Walking in the Comfort of the Holy Spirit."

The Bible is filled with many stories of encounters between God and people of all walks of life, and under a wide variety of circumstances. The story of the prophet Hosea certainly gives us a look at a truly unusual interaction and request. Paul Hay is our guest preacher this Sunday as he focuses on Hosea 1:1-2:1 with a message titled "You Want Me To Do What?"

This week, we're delighted to welcome guest speaker Michael Waddell from Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM), Team Lead for Marketplace Engagement. Michael provides oversight for Vennture, CBM's faith meets work initiative. As you may know, CBM is our denominational missions organization, and we partner with several CBM missionaries, supporting them in their work in the field.  Michael is joining us to tell us about the Vennture program, give an update from CBM, and bring a sermon titled "On Earth as It is in Heaven" from Matthew 6:9-15.

This week we'll be exploring the concept of "the fear of the Lord." We're likely familiar with that phrase from Scripture, but we may not fully understand what it means, or how essential it is to the Christian life. Pastor Kent will be focusing on that this week in a sermon titled "Walking in the Fear of the Lord", focusing on Acts 9:31.

In the life of the Apostle Paul, most people tend to focus on his acts of persecution against the early church, his powerful conversion story, his later ministry spreading the gospel to Gentile communities, or his legacy as one of the most impactful writers and theologians in the history of Christianity. But between those highlights and major events, Saul served in other ways that were no less significant in his journey, as God shaped him and guided his steps. "Paul's Early Christian Life" is the focus of our sermon this week, focusing on Acts 9:19-30.

The Bible writers used many names, and sometimes even metaphors, to describe and identify the church and people who follow Jesus. Jesus personally used many in his teaching, and some, such as "flock" or "body" are more familiar to us than others. Pastor Kent will be leading us in exploring this and unpacking one of the notable names we find in Acts 9:2 with a sermon titled "The Way".

As followers of Jesus, we should always seek to be thankful and grateful to God, no matter our situation or circumstances. It's Thanksgiving weekend and Pastor Kent is bringing a special Thanksgiving message titled "Give Thanks," focusing on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, to help us reflect on, and remember our many blessings.

How could a man who had made it his personal and passionate crusade to destroy the church of Christ, eventually become one of the greatest champions of both the church and the gospel? It's not an exaggeration to declare "The Conversion of Saul" that we find in Acts 9:1-19 to be the most dramatic personal conversion story in all of Scripture. Pastor Kent will be leading us as we look at Saul's conversion story, and consider what it means for each of us today.
