"I have one last thing to say to you..."

Isn't there something about that statement that makes you want to lean in and listen? Death bed confessionals and Last Will & Testaments grab our attention, don't they? Bob Marley's last words words were "Money can't buy life." Deep stuff. There's something about the ending of things that brings an intensity of focus.

As we continue to reflect on the awesome celebration of Easter, we begin to follow Jesus through his last moments on earth. The first followers of the resurrected Jesus encountered Him in life-changing ways, and we want to consider Jesus' last words and what they mean for us today. We'll take the next 5 Sundays to look at these last conversations, these parting words. Jesus encounters His friends in their most broken, confused, and fearful state, right where they were, so that He could meet their needs, heal them, and empower them.

As we "Remember & Celebrate", we get to hear from members of our community as they share their reflections. As you ponder these values of Jesus; His "welcome", His "freedom", His "faith", His "care", and His "leadership", what jumps out for you? What is God stirring up in your heart? What challenges you most?

Churches around the world recognize this coming Sunday as "Palm Sunday", where Jesus is praised by the crowds as a savior and a king (and He still manages to surprise everyone and create controversy, as usual).

We wrap up our series on the five values of Jesus that shape who we want to be as a church family this Sunday, and our last topic is the LEADERSHIP OF JESUS. Jesus led with humility, grace, and by example. He modeled leadership that was faithful, consistent, and collaborative, and His vulnerability, honesty, and patience reflect the bottomless grace of God.

Join us this Sunday as we get re-inspired by Jesus' example and consider the invitation to follow Him into a life of influence that makes a difference!

Our series continues on the five values of Jesus that shape who we want to be as a church family, and this Sunday we look at the CARE OF JESUS. Jesus served and cared for others with loving compassion, and we want to be a community just like that! Jesus' care for others was boundless, inexhaustible. It was practical; He saw the whole person and met tangible needs. And His care, ultimately, is eternal. He is the only one who can provide what our souls truly need, satisfying the "hunger and thirst of every living thing" (Psalm 145:16).

Another leader from history who modeled this care of others in transformative ways was Saint Patrick. His life is celebrated today - and for good reason! He is an example of someone risking life, comfort, and safety to share God's love and Good News with those who've never heard it before. We'll take some time this Sunday to pray for people currently dedicated to taking the message of Jesus to "unreached people groups" around the world. The ability and motivation to love and care for others comes from the love we first receive from God, and this Sunday we pray you'll experience the love and care of God like never before!

Is there something BIG in your life that you need to trust God with in a new way?

In this new series; the five values of Jesus that shape who we want to be as a church family, we've looked at the WELCOME of Jesus and the FREEDOM of Jesus. This Sunday, we turn our attention to the FAITH OF JESUS, displayed in Matthew 8:5-13. Jesus encouraged faith, rewarded faith, and lived by faith, and we want to follow His example!

We seek to be a church that is dependent on the supernatural work of God, a community that trusts Him to do amazing things in our lives. Branches Humboldt exists today because of the big faith of so many, and we want to continue trusting in God to do incredible things as He draws many people to Himself. We believe in a BIG God who can do anything!

...but sometimes we don't.

We're human, weak, and distrusting...we often lose faith as fast as we find it... Even Jesus' closest friends begged Him; "Give us more faith!" (Luke 17:5), and His answer is a gift to us today.

Let's wrestle with the faith of Jesus together...

Freedom!! We all long for it, but what's it all about, and how do you experience it? The FREEDOM OF JESUS is what we're looking at this Sunday at Branches. Jesus modeled and lived out a freedom that transformed those around Him, and we want to be a community that embodies that value; a freedom to be, to live, to serve, to love radically. Once again, Jesus leads the way, and following Him is never boring!

Our new series kicks off this Sunday, and we can't wait to examine the five values of Jesus that give shape to what Branches is all about! In these next five weeks, you'll learn firsthand where our vision for the church comes from, and how we seek to follow Jesus' example. We'll find that much of what He does is (no surprise) controversial and challenging but ultimately leads to a life with God beyond our wildest imaginations!

This Sunday, we look at the radical WELCOME OF JESUS in Matthew 9:9-13. How does this "welcome" shake the foundations of society and religion, and what does it mean for us today?

This Sunday, we pause at the end of our series "Start with Jesus" to reflect on what God is showing us and what He's saying to us. We hear from three people in our community, as they share their reflections and thoughts. How awesome it is to know that God has a unique journey He's leading each of us on!
