How Brands Can Hurt an Influncer Campaign
Very few influencers can claim to be "experts." This is an evolving method of marketing.
Some brands can have a cool product, but leadership in the marketing department can handcuff their influencers.
When you have a good product, limiting the opportunities to market across social platforms can actually hurt the results.
How Brands SHOULD Be Approaching an Influencer Campaign
You really need to bring the infuencer in to the ultimate goal... views, tested, impressions, sales, etc.
Don't totally leave this up to the influencer, be specific.
Give as much quality information to the influencer to generate creative content.
Be willing to adjust the campaign.
It's not just about the brand or product, you need to support the influencer by matching the influencer to the campaign.
Money won't always make a successful influencer.
Make sure you have qualified people reviewing the influencers to make sure you are "hiring" the right people.
You need to be strategic when bringing people onboard to experience your brand.
Recognize the influencers. Money is not the ultimate goal. Recognition, product, money and in-person meetings are all great ways to make sure the relationship is the best it can be.
Support community projects, non-profit organizations and other social work and let your influencers share the good you're doing in your communities and beyond.
