Brand Colours Are Tricking Our Brains On Social Media Sites

Listen Later

In yesterday's episode, I spoke about how using the colour red, or colours on the red spectrum, may help the content in your ads or other social posts perform better. And that's down to the fact that unlike most mammals, us humans have the ability to see colours in the red spectrum, where most can only see blue and green. However, although this may sound like a cure-all or failsafe when it comes to advertising yourself online, and you may be rushing out to brand everything in your life a neon red, unfortunately it's not as simple as that. As with all forms of online advertising, there are situations where this doesn't apply. And using red may work against you then advertising on certain websites. You see, we've been subconsciously trained to see colours used as brand colours on certain social media sites as advertising. And because of this, using a social platform's brand colour in your ads or content may result in it getting ignored more. For example, you're likely going to see a drop in your clickthrough rates when seeing primarily red images on YouTube and Pinterest, and when using royal blue on Facebook. We associate these colours with ads on these platforms, and 99.999% of the time, we don't even know we're doing it. PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemist Please make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week. If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review.
