  • Manychat: The Ultra-Cheap Chatbot That'll Spike Your Online Sales With No Effort
This is a rebroadcast of a previous episode, though with some minor changes made for clarity, as well as to correct an error in the previous publishing. One of the most important tools I've used in my own online business, so one I thought was worthwhile for everyone to know about.Everyone invests in tools, apps, advertising, or plugins in their online business. Whether they're SEO tools, keyword researchers, or email marketing tools, we're generally happy if they generate any kind of positive return on investment for our business. In most case, people are stoked if a Facebook ad or plugin has a 100% or 200% ROI, meaning that for every $1 they put in, they're getting $2 or $3 back. And that's great. Any positive ROI or tool that's generating profit isn't one you should shy away from. But what if I told you there was a little $10 automated tool that would give you almost $200 back for every $1 you put in? Well, it ain't fantasy, it's a reality. The app in question is Facebook Messenger chatbot tool Manychat, which I've been using for success for over a year now. And although results vary from month-to-month in the several businesses I've utilised it on, the average ROI it generates is around 17380% per month, when considering its tiny entry price of $10.As I talk about in this episode though, I'm no longer earning that alarmingly high ROI with Manychat, but that's only because I'm paying now $25 per month for the tool, due to the size of the chatbot list I have. However, at almost 7000% ROI, it's still ridiculously high, and not something I think any marketer in their right mind would turn a blind eye to.The best thing about using a Facebook marketing chatbot like Manychat is that it's unbelievably easy to install. If you've got any experience setting up a mailing list on your website (and I'm sure you do), then it'll be a breeze. In some cases, you can have it all up and running in less than five minutes, with no coding experience needed. To say I highly recommend the app would be a complete understatement. PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • [REBROADCAST] Facebook Threatened To Sue Me In 2009 (When They Were Only Worth $16 Billion)
Although we're less than a month in to the Unsuckify podcast, I thought I'd rebroadcast the very first episode to all my new audience. Since there are already so many new listeners, and this was such an impactful story (at least in my marketing life), I thought it was worth a re-share.I hope you enjoy!----------Welcome to the first episode of UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast. My name is Leon. I'm a digital marketer and consultant who has worked with some of the biggest brands, events, and celebrities on the planet. And as I'll tell you at the start of each episode, it's estimated I've helped my clients earn over $200 million USD in online sales.Since striking out with my first company uSocial back in 2007, I've become a self-made millionaire in the marketing and advertising space, and have since owned three companies in this realm. One as a digital marketing consultant and service provider, one a PR company where I acted as a publicist on a global scale, and the third where I created the world's largest marketing agency for music festivals. This podcast is, as with the name, will be a daily show. And no, I don't mean almost every day, or Monday through Friday, but every single day of the year. As we know, online business doesn't stop, so I'm not going to stop delivering stackable chunks of online marketing advice to help you grow your business.Although I have a career full of stories to share with you about what I've done since the age of 23, I'm starting with one of my first major stories. On the 14th of September 2009, around two years after founding uSocial, I received what would become a very valuable email in my inbox. In short, Facebook's lawyers were advising me to stop trading, as they believed we were infringing upon their TOS. This was back when the company was only valued at around $16 billion. (It's about $700 billion today).Long story short, we weren't, and the result became our company making a ton of extra cash with a single press release about the whole situation. And in case you were wondering (which you probably weren't), I have the cease and desist framed on the wall of my office at home here in Iceland. It means that much to me.I sincerely hope you enjoy the podcast. Much love to you, and I look forward to sharing more with you each and every day.----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Why I Test Hundreds (Or 1000s) Of Images Before Launching Major Ad Campaigns
Are you getting ready to launch a major product or service online? Well, you need to be doing some testing first!Regardless of how much experience you have with launching paid ad campaigns online, the only thing stopping you from doing individual testing before launch is likely your ego. The mentality that "Hey, I've done this before, so I know what works!" And if that's your thought pattern, you may need a small wakeup call.Despite running digital ad campaigns for the best part of 15 years, I still run extensive image ad testing before a product launch. Even if you have years of data of what works for your brand or service, or you know what images of yours get the highest engagement, it's still necessary that you test, test, test.As I'll talk about in today's episode of the Daily Marketing Podcast, boosting your clickthrough rate by 0.5% with a little time investment at the start, can mean a huge jump in the ROI of your campaigns. Not to mention the future knowledge that you're collecting better data about what your ideal customers respond to online.Today's episode should be considered part one in a two part series, as on tomorrow's podcast episode I'm going to be diving deeper into my exact process of running a large-scale image test campaign.----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Why Social Proof Apps Are Better Than Using Testimonials
Whenever it comes to crunch time in buying a new product or service online, the simple fact is that we all like confirmation that other people have found value in that product before. This is why testimonials work so well online, due to the fact that they're a factor in validating the sale for us before it's made, or concreting our hope that we'll find value in that product as well. However, testimonials are old news. Not to say that you shouldn't be using them, but because there's a better and more modern way of providing testimonials, that are much more trustworthy. In today's episode of the Daily Marketing Podcast, I'm talking about social proof, which is the concept whereby like social media, we can provide social validation that other people have bought our products and services before.Via cheap and easily-implementable social proof apps like Proof and FOMO (the latter of which I recommend as I use it myself), you are able to show new visitors to your website or sales pages that real humans are buying your stuff.Unlike testimonials which are biased, or able to be generated by the sales page owner themselves, the fact that social proof apps are third-party plugins that show when you make sales, makes them much more credible as a marketing tool than a testimonial you plant on your own website.Links to the two social proof apps I mention in this episode can be found below.FOMO (Recommended): http://fomo.com/PROOF: http://useproof.com/----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Mastering Marketing Mind Control By Using Interrupting Patterns
What if you could interrupt people's normal way of viewing the internet, and almost force them to view your content? Well, where there's a will, there's always a way.Us human beings are quite subconscious creatures, and we navigate the online and real worlds in quite automatic ways most of the time. This is due to the fact that we need a certain amount of mental automation to avoid being overwhelmed with a torrent of information, alongside the fact that much of this is down to the way we've been programmed during our lives. On today's episode of the Daily Marketing Podcast, I'm going to give you a quick marketing hack that will help you use interrupting patterns to make your content - but more importantly your ads - stand out better on the internet. Most of this is down to the fact that there are certain patterns that don't really appear very frequently in nature. This is why we pay attention to a red and yellow striped hornet, as it's a way of nature telling us to stay away from this creature. And why caution tape on building sites or police crime scenes tends to mirror this. Because it stands out to our eye.By using geometric, repeating, or interrupting patterns like this, you'll increase your chances of having your ads and content stand out online when compared to your competitors. Some examples of patterns that work really well in this regard can be found below.----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Hunt Down Any Decision Maker's Email With This One Free Tool
Ever had the problem of wanting to find the email address of a decision maker in a company, but were relegated to just sending to the company's main email address and hoping for the best? Yeah I know, we've all been there. In an ideal world, if you wanted to get an email straight to the company owner, or the CMO, you'd send it directly to them. And not to the main "hello@" email address, in the hope that some lovely overworked staff member would forward it on.The problem however, is that most companies don't broadcast their employees direct contact emails. Especially in the case of their managers, or executive decision makers. And this can cause us marketers a little stress.Well, stress no longer! There's a simple email marketing tool that I'm chatting about on today's episode of the Daily Marketing Podcast, that I want to share with you. Ideally, in the hope that if you ever need to get your email sent straight to a company's decision maker, you can find their email. The great news is that Hunter (http://hunter.io/) is mostly free, if you're only conducting a few searches per month. And if you're doing a ton of searches that the free version doesn't support, it won't break the bank.I've used this tool to great success in the past, especially when my company We Know Festivals would reach out to events in the festival industry, pitching to them as potential clients. As always, I don't have any affiliation with Hunter (formerly called "Email Hunter"), apart from the fact that I've used it myself.----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Cut Your CPA By 50% By Delaying Your Remarketing Pixel From Firing
Remarketing on ad platforms is something every single business should be doing online, if you're wanting to truly run a successful and profitable online business. And while your easiest paid ad sales will likely come from this method of advertising your products and services, what if you could make this channel of sales acquisition even easier? In this episode of the Daily Marketing Podcast, I'm talking about a quick and simple way of reducing the cost-per-acquisition (CPA) of your online sales, by delaying your remarking pixels from firing.Formerly, this was something you could only do by installing your own little pixel scripts on your site, however thanks to many people requesting this feature, several platforms (including Facebook) have made this a native part of their service. And because of that, potentially made the way we all advertise online more simple and effective. The philosophy behind this tactic is simple: people who have spent more time checking out one of your product pages are obviously more interested than someone who dropped off after only a couple of seconds, and are considerably more likely to purchase. Because of this, campaigns targeted to these more valuable audiences should be more effective, right? As is the case with everything, testing is necessary to be sure, though in almost every one of my experiences, this is definitely the case.In any case, add this to your repertoire of digital marketing hacks, to boost the effectiveness of your online advertising campaigns.Links to tutorials can be found below:https://measureschool.com/delay-facebook-pixel/https://adespresso.com/blog/facebook-pixel/----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Influencer Brand Deals Suck: How To Earn More From Your Audience
If you're an influencer, or have any kind of online audience (like me), chances are you've wished for more brand deals, or companies coming to you because they want to throw some cash at you to promote their stuff to your audience.Well, I'm here to tell you that there's a better way.I'm not saying that you can't make a living from being an influencer. We all know that there are a ton of influencers out there cashing in on this marketing trend, some who are bringing in millions by promoting other brand's stuff. When you're promoting another company's products or services, the problem is that you're effectively only earning a percentage of that sale. You may not be earning a commission, but a brand is only allocating a percentage of each targeted sale to their marketing efforts with influencers, not all of a sale.So that means you're only earning a percentage of your total earning ability, over-and-above what you could be making. And here's where I share why earning 100% of a sale, is much better than a smaller cut. This is something I have a ton of personal experience with, having started a podcasting business as an influencer myself. So listen up, as you're getting the 411 direct from the front lines!----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • Making $220,000 With Pig Hearts: A Marketing Stunt Case Study
What if you could send 35 pig hearts to a few businesses, and then pocket over $220K? I don't have to imagine that, because it's something I've done in my own lifetime.Marketing stunts, just like publicity stunts, aren't always guaranteed to work. Like the old saying goes, you win some, and you lose some. However, the simple fact is that any kind of marketing stunt generally will have a higher chance of creating a splash when compared to boring traditional marketing, simply because of the nature of what they are.Take my first company as an example, uSocial. We decided we wanted to rake in some new high-ticket clients in our home city of Brisbane, and decided to come up with a marketing stunt to match. And as you'll hear in this episode, the marketing stunt in question involved 35 pig hearts, and a couple of angry car dealerships. However, the plus was that the stunt in question also resulted in us gaining three new high-ticket clients, worth around $225,000 AUD in business over the next year. A result I'm sure you'd agree, isn't something to be shy about. But the stunt was controversial, and ruffled a few feathers. So, would I do it again? Well, you'll have to listen to this episode to find out.----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review. • How The Centre-Stage Effect Forces People To Buy At The Price You Choose
What if you could guarantee that of the people who buy one of your products or services, the vast majority would select the pricing option you want them to? Well, that's definitely not only a possibility, but an eventuality that's backed up by science. The Centre-Stage Effect is a studied effect whereby given three pricing options, the vast majority of people (somewhere in the realm of 60%-65%) will choose the middle-priced option. This is down to a few factors which I'll talk about in this episode.Mostly though, for us as online marketers, it's our way to guide our audience to buy our products at the price that we want them to buy at. Instead of deciding whether our pricing is to their liking, and buying one way or another. The centre-stage effect works so well, that I've used it in the past to special effect on music festivals, to effectively increase the ticket price by around 15%, simply by adding a slightly more premium option. This has been done in the festival industry for years with a two-tiered approach having a VIP pass, but most miss out on the benefits of having a three-level approach that works best from a revenue standpoint. The centre-stage effect works wonders with almost any digital product, as well as physical products. However, with physical products it can be more difficult to have several options of the same product, so I find it especially works for more intangible items like tickets, courses, and e-books.----------PRE-ORDER LAUNCH COURSE: http://launch.ax/ PODCASTING COURSE: http://pod.ax/WORK WITH ME: http://unsuckify.com/ MY INSTAGRAM: @leonthealchemistPlease make sure you're subscribed to UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast to get notified of whenever a new episode goes live, seven days per week.If you enjoyed this episode, I'd especially love it if you could take the time to give UNSUCKIFY a 5-star rating and a review.
