Although we're less than a month in to the Unsuckify podcast, I thought I'd rebroadcast the very first episode to all my new audience. Since there are already so many new listeners, and this was such an impactful story (at least in my marketing life), I thought it was worth a re-share.I hope you enjoy!----------Welcome to the first episode of UNSUCKIFY: The Daily Marketing Podcast.My name is Leon. I'm a digital marketer and consultant who has worked with some of the biggest brands, events, and celebrities on the planet. And no, I don't mean almost every day, or Monday through Friday, but every single day of the year. As we know, online business doesn't stop, so I'm not going to stop delivering stackable chunks of online marketing advice to help you grow your business.Although I have a career full of stories to share with you about what I've done since the age of 23, I'm starting with one of my first major stories.On the 14th of September 2009, around two years after founding uSocial, I received what would become a very valuable email in my inbox. In short, Facebook's lawyers were advising me to stop trading, as they believed we were infringing upon their TOS. This was back when the company was only valued at around $16 billion. (It's about $700 billion today).Long story short, we weren't, and the result became our company making a ton of extra cash with a single press release about the whole situation.And in case you were wondering (which you probably weren't), I have the cease and desist framed on the wall of my office at home here in Iceland.
