Mulder and Scully investigate the mysterious death of a man involved in a tobacco company lawsuit. The victim appears to have been killed by flesh-eating insects found in his lungs, which were linked to experimental genetically engineered tobacco. 

The investigation leads them to a whistleblower named Darryl Weaver, who was exposed to the dangerous tobacco and may now be spreading the lethal insects. As the agents race to uncover the truth, they face the deadly consequences of this horrifying bioengineering experiment.
