Some time ago I came across this ad about Youtube automation and thought it had something to do with this AI hype that's going on at the moment. After doing some research I found out that the word 'automation' is a bit misleading.

However, the concept is pretty straightforward: you actually delegate all the menial and time-consuming tasks involved in video making to others. This happens through platforms such as Fiverr where you can hire freelancers. Your team(and budget) could be something like this:

Note that the expenses mentioned above are for one video only with no guarantees for the video ever breaking and start generating income. Now, since I first mistook 'automation' to mean AI I thought why not use AI to do most of these tasks and save money?

In this post, I'm gonna share my experiment, the apps I used to do it, and tell you was it worth it.

I think I got to cut some corners and save time with AI but whoever says AI automates everything is lying. There was plenty of manual labor. That being said, for the script part especially, I could have easily spent way more hours than without ChatGPT.

I'm still not sure if I'll continue this experiment with my Youtube channel. Perhaps the niche isn't that profitable and maybe there's too much competition when it comes to animal videos.

Still, this has been a good test of combining video creation with AI. Perhaps the most important thing I learned from it was to find different applications. There are plenty of apps that seem cheap and promise to offer many features. However, there are also a lot of free ones you can use to get the job done.

The only app I paid for is Canva Pro costing something like $11/month. So when compared to hiring a whole Youtube automation team, DIY is so much cheaper. In the end, it comes down to how we value our work.

If and when I continue with this kind of content creation now I know to search for cheap or free alternatives to cut costs - at least in the beginning.

For a Youtube channel to start generating income you'll need many views and many subscribers but I believe it can be achieved once the right niche is found. It certainly isn't like it is here on Hive when you start earning immediately after publishing. Then again, once cross that Youtube earning threshold, your older videos will also be generating income if they can attract an audience.

I have to admit I almost clicked the 'Skip To Results' - button during the first rounds of this battle. Djinn Oshannus, my tank unit was under some serious beating while at some point being stunned and attacked by raged Grund with both war hammers.

So how did I and Djinn survive this? Well, actually Djinn didn't at first but was resurrected back to life by the friendly River Hellondale.

Rulesets for this battle we What Doesn't Kill You and Holy Protection and I was up against a team with mixed attacks of melee and ranged with a hint of magic.

As being said I was in some serious trouble at some point but was saved especially by two monsters - River Hellondale and Swamp Spitter. The latter did some exceptional work by repairing the armor of Djinn Oshannus and therefore extending his life span.

When that finally ended it was River Hellondale's time to come to the rescue. I was well aware that the revived monster would come back with armor but what I didn't know was he would also have the divine shield once again!

I would very much like to declare that this was a planned strategy but no. I merely took Swamp Spitter along to protect the last spot from Sneak monsters.

In the end battles like this is the essence of Splinterlands - battles in which you discover new strategies to use in the future.

Today my Genesis League Goals packs, or in short, GMLSPA packs were finally unlocked and I couldn't wait to rip them open. This was actually the last day to open them while getting the maximum chance(15%) of pulling a gold foil card from the pack.

Also, by purchasing Scout Passes you can increase the chances of getting a gold foil card. It's pretty much the same as Splinterlands potions - one pass for one card.

Here are rarity levels, or the chances of pulling a certain card:

I only did have 7 packs to open so my hopes weren't that high but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised!

This is what I got:

So, it looks like I'm able to form a team. What's even better is 5 of the cards were indeed gold foils - the ones I was after. Even though I got only one coach card I cannot complain since it turned out to be golden.

I'm very happy with the result and eagerly waiting for the next big things to hit GLG, the market & the actual gameplay. It will be interesting to see how these cards are valued at first and how their price will develop in the future.

More than that I'm waiting for the launch of the game and how to strategize with my pretty modest deck. I think once we get to see the gameplay rewards and the effects of upgrading cards, etc. on the pitch, the demand for GLG assets will grow.

Here is a pretty basic Splinterlands tutorial to tackle the Fog Of War ruleset.

This means most of the pressure is probably focused on your tank unit. As always there are exceptions like Blast ability which, if successful, will send a ricochet toward your second spot monster. Probably even more lethal would be monsters with Opportunity.

There are many ways to conquer your opponent in Fog Of War battles and part of the fun of Splinterlands is to discover them yourself.

As for me, I always try to find monsters with helpful abilities to support my tank unit. For this low mana battle, I managed to find two of them.

If the opponent won't have monsters with Opportunity(or Blast), these two little helpers should be safe since the Sneak and Snipe are excluded.

As you can see, my opponent had one Sneak monster, Uraeus, in their team. This snake would have targeted Merdaali Guardian and would have probably defeated her changing the whole outcome of the battle.

Since this wasn't the case I managed to win an opponent with a summoner and monsters on higher levels.
