The Mosaic Law wasn't the intent of God's plan and heart for the Israelites. Because of their slave mentality they turned down the opportunity to be a kingdom of priests in order to be a prisoner of the law. The better covenant was in the plan from the beginning but the Israelites wanted only to receive according to their obedience. The law was asked for by the people and they opposed simple faith in God's faithfulness.
