The self-righteous are warned that God’s justice is perfect and his judgment impartial, according to the truth of our works, whether Jew or Greek, and according to the revelation we have, whether the Mosaic law or only natural law.

God is justified in his wrath against all who do not fear him, since his self-revelation through creation leaves us without excuse. Such willful ignorance leads to the futility and foolishness of irrational idolatry, a reflection of our rejection of the One who is worthy of worship.

The revelation of God’s wrath is good and necessary for right response to the gospel.

We, like Paul, must unashamedly live by and proclaim God’s gospel (of His Son Jesus Christ) because this gospel alone is God’s saving power to everyone who believes.

Let’s follow Paul’s example of Christ-centered praise and prayer, of kingdom-minded passions, and of gospel priority in our relationships and responsibilities.
